Was my 940 made on a Monday morning?

lifetime warranty no charge for service,

except if the blade and handle is broken

and they don't refinish knives

not sending the knife back for warranty?

how would they fix it then?

cant think if any knife company that doesn't have you send the knife in for warranty issues

Such as sending me a new blade or something? Not sure. I don't have many knives, so I feel lost without my EDC

I have 3 940's and a 943 and all are perfect, one came slightly off center but after pulling it apart and tightening the screws down evenly its dead centered now. Pull it apart and have a go, best of luck.

I would CALL Benchmade before I sent it in. Explain your concerns to them.
Good luck!
PS.....I have 4, 94x and all came centered. Never obsessively inspected the grinds, though none are really bad.

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere, but how was the centering BEFORE you sent it back for sharpening? Was it perfect, or a little off, and now its worse? I'm curious.

It was a little off, but functional. Now it is really off. I sometimes question if they've sent me the right knife.

I was going to ask the same thing. I do think the centering is a legitimate issue that they can resolve.

The grind on the other hand is off. But it is a fairly complex grind on a production knife, you will get some variations, maybe a trainee did this one. Just looked at my 940... Centering is barely off center and if I really wanted to be nit picky I could find a place where the grind is not perfectly symmetrical. But I still love it, and it is a benchmark by which I judge a lot of other knives.

it actually came back worse than the condition I sent it in. I feel like the whole alignment thing got screwed up. Maybe they loosened it because of the stiff action? Or they messed something up?

Bump- Does this look normal? I apologize for the bad video. I have an opportunity to return the blade this week of you all believe there is something wrong. A reply soon would be very much appreciated. Thank you all for your help

Life is like a box of knives, you never know which ones going to be off-center.

Side to side when closed is pretty common in my experience, although not typically that much, you're sure you can't tighten the pivot any?

Tightening the pivot stiffens the action of the blade too much. When I pull back the axis lock, the blade just gets stuck A
