Watch out bali folks!

Okay, what type of knife was sold? I'm guessing a balisong, but what brand? What was the condition promised? What was the condition received? What monetary figures? We still don't know jack. Could you cut and paste the public transactions on the other forum?
 
Hey Doug if you have a connection to this guy then maybe you can encourage him to do the right thing. Basically he totally misrepresented a knife he sold me then refused to take it back. After I posted pics of the knife and a quote of his initial description everyone else agreed it was a scam. Turns out it wasn't the first time he had scammed a member over their either. Then he publicly stated that he didn't care and wasn't going to do anything about it. He also plans to hang around until he's forcibly removed, which is why folks need to be aware of this individual selling anything. I don't care how long this guy was a member here, his attitude is worse than a regular scamster because he's flaunting taking advantage of balisong buyers in everyone else's face.
 
I could, yes, but that may be unnecessary. The individual used to be known here as "Arokiem" and I've been informed that he is banned from here for the same type of thing. If he has been found to have re-registered here he will be banned again, but folks should look out anyways.
 
Just read about the guy in a thread from 02. Sounds very despicable to me, you're right, there isn't much to say about him.

Sorry George, I guess this all started back before you were around here. Connection w/Kiem? uhhh no. I used the email you provided above and sent him a brief "whats up w/the acusations?" note w/a link here. He responded almost instantly w/a friendly apolagy for water under the bridge blah blah blah blah, but nothing regarding the "deal gone sour part 2" soooooo don't get me wrong boy's, my position stays the same as it did in those ancient archive threads where ol' Kiem got axed. HE SCREWED ME OUT OF A KNIFE I WON @ BA, never took my money, never tried to rob me, just used less than ethical tactics in selling it, and maybe even broke the law somewhere there as well. That itself is more than enough for me to avoid his future transactions. (not to mention the 29knives smere campaign) Sorry to here he got you George, and if you say he got you, than I believe you George, but give the rest of those sympathetic softies some details. :) :D

Kiem Truong, you are a scumbag. You describe the knife as being in a condition different than it really is and then you tell the buyer that it is his problem? You are a crook and a lowlife POS.
 
Also, I think that this information should be spread over every knife forum on the internet. People should be warned about vermin like this.

There's another old phrase, "As you sow, so shall you reap."

I suspect that you'll learn about it eventually.
 
I don't really feel a need to respond to this guy, but just so things are clear there was no "fine print." He lied about the condition plain and simple. Here's his direct quote before the sale:

"Hello George, Yes i accept paypal plus the 3%. If you would like it insured it'll be another 20 dollars. It has a bowie blade on it and it's in great condition.The blade is in perfect condition and still very sharp.The handles have very minor signs of use but nothing too dramatic.All in all i'd give it a rating of 8/10 in terms of looks and condition"

I won't post the pics again but basically the handles have gouges from being clamped in a vice, the latch screw is half-stripped and the latch won't close anymore no matter how hard you press from being jacked around.

In addition to trying to take me for $20 for USPS insurance we settled on $4. He kept the extra money I paid him and sent it uninsured. His excuse? "USPS didn't offer insurance."

As we all know if there is ever any "fine print" it needs to be bold print among fellow gentlemen. What made it worse is after being told by everyone he misrepresented it he said he didn't care. The others that had also been scammed piped up as well but he would rather keep his few bucks then save his reputation.

Not sure what you're trying to imply there Duane, or if you're just wanting to spread false rumors about me again. Anyone who was present at that other forum including the buyer will tell you that I offered a full refund on the spot when I found out that the Benchmade had some factory pitting (which is not uncommon and the knife had never been taken out of the box). Heck I even offered to take it back publicly on the forum but that was days after I had already offered the same to the buyer. If your irrational dislike of me is playing with your memory again maybe you can go back and read the thread.

One reason Louie was so upset was not just because I didn't take the knife out and inspect it before I sold it to him but because we had agreed I would bid on another one on the Bay to replace it. He wanted me to snipe it and I tried but for some reason my browser just churned and the bid came in too late. Louie and I knew each other from before that and there is no way I would have tried to scam him in any way. That whole episode is old news (like over a year ago?) and I wish you would get a grip on what really happened so you can move on from holding a grudge forever. Louie and I have talked many times after that and are on good terms.

I was an unknown NooB back then on THAT forum and Louie was an established member. With the "brotherhood" mentality that exists over there it understandable that you formed a negative first impression of me. What is odd is why you insist on holding a grudge for so long. Move on, man. My intentions are always good and we all make mistakes. I learned to carefully inspect even a new knife before I sell it and to put in my eBay bids 15 minutes out. We all make mistakes, but what is clear is that I'm of good character and I do the right thing after I make them. Hey if you want to hold a grudge forever I can't stop you. But it takes less energy to forgive and move on.
