Watch out bali folks!

The nerve of someone doing that to YOU, huh George?
Based on what I saw over on balisongforums, Kiem's behavior has consistently proven to be highly unethical at best. Irregardless of weather or not you like GF, what Kiem did was wrong. I would like to see Louie comment on his transaction with GFHoward and will in my mind considered it a resolved issue unless I see Louie post otherwise. It is I who asked GFHoward to post Kiem's name publically over on balisongforums because I felt that after all that Kiem had done, combined with his belligerant attitude, all other other reasonable recourses had been exhausted. George has done the right thing exposing this scumbag and done us all a service.

Thank you, George.

Also Weenis claims to have been sold a BM-31 from Kiem that arrived with no washers. Typical of Kiem, he hasn't "made good" there either.

GFHOWARD YOUR A SCUMBAG.I DON'T LIKE INDIVIDUALS THAT LIKE TO TRY AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OTHER PEOPLE.POST SOME CLIFF NOTES YOU LOW LIFE.
THATS RIGHT I'VE BEEN A MEMBER OF BLADEFORUMS SINCE 2002!THAT MEANS I CAN READ AND SEARCH THROUGH YOUR RECENT POST(s).WETHER OR NOT YOU THINK I RIPPED YOU OFF DOSEN'T MATTER TO ME.YOU POSTED MY PERSONAL INFOMATION ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD BECAUSE YOU THINK I RIPPED YOU OFF...BUT THE FACT IS THAT YOU BOUGHT A KNIFE WITHOUT KNOW DEATILS OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE FINE PRINT.I SOLD THE KNIFE TO YOU AS IS...SO STOP BEGGING ME FOR A REFUND.YOU CAN CRY ABOUT IT ALL YOU WANT SERIOUSLY IT MAKES NO DIFFRENCE TO ME.

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THE PHRASE "CAVEAT EMPTOR"
THAT MEANS "BUYER BEWARE" IN LATIN.
YOU'LL LEARN ABOUT IT EVENTUALLY.

OH AND JUST BECAUSE YOU THINK THE KNIFE ISN'T WORTH WHAT YOU PAID FOR IT DOSEN'T MEAN YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO A REFUND.

This isn't a business pal, this is just a group of guys and gals trading, selling and buying the knives that keep this place running. That doesn't mean those involved in trading/selling and yes even buying shouldn't engage in the utmost superior customer service! Caveat Emptor should not exist in this forum! No one should have to beware when doing business with others on this forum. We can't describe everything that might devalue a knife, but we should do our damndest!

Oh yeah, one final thought. It should make a difference to ya, you lost access to one of the best forums out there, and the opportunity to fund your knife habit by selling and trading knives on here with a great crowd. Rant over.

George......

How did you pay for it?

Hey George.......

How did you pay for it? You probably know already that if you used a credit card
or PayPal....then you do have recourse. You know that.....right? ;)

You probably also know that to pay for something in any other way is just asking for trouble!

I have never used either in a private transaction and have never been ripped off. I will continue to use money orders or bank wire transfers. Maybe I'm asking for trouble, but I prefer to trust people until given good reason not to.

Well Keith......

Call me a cynic, but because of some very bad experiences, (not related to knife buying) I will now only buy from someone who will accept either Visa or PayPal.

Come to think of it, I did have one bad experience with a knfe sale: I bought a knife from Knifezilla and never received it. If I hadn't used PayPal for the transaction, I'd still be waiting for the refund.....two years later!

I agree completely, Kiem was wrong for misrepresenting the product, and again for not taking it back. This Buyer Beware BS is out of place on these forums...no sale should be final until both parties agree it is.

The GF/Louie thing is old news. It was resolved long ago. Not the way I wanted to see it resolved, but it was not my transaction.
I hate to see anyone get screwed on a transaction (yes, even GF.) I just could not contain myself with the Forum Karma coming around. :)

I was following Louie's instructions as far as not using the "Buy-it-Now" and then contacting you when the price went higher. I was acting on his behalf and he and I deciding together how to go for it. Yes he wanted to see if we could get it for less by bidding rather than using the BIN. When it went over the BIN price I said I would contact you, explain the situation, and see if you wanted to help out. Your decision to run the auction is totally understandable but it is not unethical to end an auction early for a higher price. It's an eBay option built into eBay that sellers have. My only reason for asking is that I was really trying to make things right and help Louie get an SSC with no imperfections. We had no problem with your decision to run the auction and my bid would have won it easily if my snipe hadn't come in late. Again I was waiting to bid on that thing from 10 minutes out. Louie and I had been PM'ing right before it. I sniped at 15 seconds which I was thought was allowing plenty of time and my browser churned and churned--I don't know why. I felt really bad but I genuinely tried so what can you do?

Duane you say it wasn't resolved the way you would have wanted it. The fact is that I offered him whatever he wanted from day 1 when he told me the problem. The method of resolution was chosen by him, not me. We decided that first I would bid on Doug's which was on eBay, and if that didn't work that I would take it back or credit him for the pitting, and that is what we did. I had nothing to gain or benefit from losing that auction or messing with Louie. We had known each other for a while then from bali circles and I considered him a pal. I'm not sure what else you would have liked to see; I offered a full refund plus shipping on day 1, he chose to keep the knife and send it to BM to have the pitting buffed out. So that he would feel better I gave him alot of money back to make the deal fair according to what we both thought was fair.

Pretty well all my dealings are with private individuals and they don't take credit cards. Some deal with Pay Pal, but I won't. I do not care for Pay Pal as a company.

I can certainly understand why a person would only use credit cards or Pay Pal. That is the safest way to go. Maybe someday I will feel the same way.
