Dave I mentioned to you on the phone when you first called me at the begining of this thread and told you about some leather dies I what to make,, do you remember?
can you keep a cut in plywood at a .045 max width and no less than .042

in other words

a total kerf width of .0435 (+ - .0015 )
the die steel I have will have to fit in this kerf fairly tight.. not to get picky or anything :) I'm sure you can but I'm not sure if you'd have to make two passes or the one, this may have to be repeatable if you have to make two passes.. because of a bottom plate..

I'm thinking your stream is opox .030 ?..

Dave,
it seems you get a really good finish on that micarta too, can you give a ball park price on a set of average slabs like you have on the pictures? Thanks.

Mike

Hey guys, just so you know, I'll be back in the office friday. I will answer all e-mails and calls then. Thanks everyone!

Thanks everyone. Larry, I can cut the profile of these. It wants to "blow out" if I try to do the holes. Usually the customer send these materials to me.

I didn't mention here that I got another set of my ESK blanks from Dave
also a blank for another project I'm doing.
After the first batch I didn't think their would be an problems, it's all been good, and to work with Dave is great..
Dave I hope, I'll be sending you the new Cads on that leather molding model blank and tooling here soon, I need to double check some stuff on them.

keep up the good work buddy

Im interested in having my first knife cut out by you. I havent the slightest clue about drawing it on the computer so could I just draw up the design on paper or on the steel and let you work it into the computer.
I sent you an email a while back but never got a reply, (might be my emails fault).
Please drop me an email at - nickynwong55@hotmail.com

You said at one point you can work from adobe illustrator files, I have some projects in Sterling Silver that need to be pretty close tolerances, including some celtic knotwork that may be tricky to turn into solidworks
should I try to render it in Illustrator?

I know this is not knives, but I would like to share some other work we do. These are for Valley Tin Works/Metallo Arts. The logo is made from .250" aluminum. They did an outstanding job with the finish! The Warhol Self-Portrait is from 16 gauge steel.
