Waterjet cutting for knife blanks

I really like doing custom signs and artwork. I think knifemakers need signs too. Right Glenn?

Well were back from vacation. Don't you just love to leave 75 deg. and sunny and come home to 3" of snow! Thanks everyone for your patience. Orders are rollin' out again!:D

Got that pattern on the way to ya bro

err can you engrave a design in the steel per chance?? without ging all the way through

Here is some of David's handy work sitting next to a blade that I finish ground today. This is a Bose teardrop desk/paring knife pattern. David worked up the drawing from a hard pattern that we sent him and cut some out of ATS-34. Saves "grunt work" time at the band saw but the best part is there is very little wasted material.

You should have him include the holes for the pins as well. Get each one uniform. I bet it wouldn't be to hard for the machine at all. and saves more time. you just have to grind the edge and be on with it.

David cut out some folder parts for me and I asked him to spot the holes on those pieces. But for these small fixed blade knives, sometimes you want to play with the hole positions just a bit to allow for differences in odd shaped handle materials, such as stag.

David, just pic'd up this thread. Glad I didn't miss this. I will be sending you a drawing to get a price quote. I have some O-1 and hate to grind it to shape. Looks like this would be a breeze for you based on the prior posts. One question; I saw you had cut some micarta, do you stock it and if so where on the web site would I go to look at your selections? Look forward to doing buisness with you.

I don't have any mycarta in stock. When you e-mail your pattern, I'll draw it and send you a pic.:D

Thanks. I'll be sending it soon. I have to figure this d@#& autocad stuff out first. Will a hand drawn pic with proper dimensions work?

I just wanted to join the fan club here. I got my blanks yesterday. They look great David, thank you very much. Every time I look at them I think about the time saved!
