We all like knives - what else do you collect?

So what other obsessions are out there?

Flashlights (100+), multitools and SAKs (50?) and firearms/ammo (enough to supply the Bolivian army for 3 years).

Tip of the iceberg.

Watches, Pens, Flashlights, Guns, Used to collect Reptiles. Sadly I'm a collector at heart, it's pretty damn expensive...:(

Knife117, it would be nice it you would identify the flash lights. Not everyone probably pays as much attention to them as you do. I like them, but I tend to be pretty cheap in the LED flashlight area although I have many that I use. Like a knife, I use a flashlight every day more than once.

The identification is one of my pet peeves on the forums. Show a picture and not even say what it is.

They are Prometheus Alpha Ready-Made flashlights. Not cheap, but extremely well built with high-end components and 500 lumen output in a small package!

I think for most here, knives help channel your inner manchild, and manchild wants toys dammit!

Buy the right ones and they actually go up in value quite nicely, like these:

Other blades items. Khukris, bayonets, etc. :D

I do have a few vintage computers, not enough to call it a serious collection though. Timex, Aquarius, Commodore, early IBM, early Compaq (including the first non-IBM computer to be PC-compatible), Sun, Atari, Kaypro, Apple, Tandy, Texas Instruments....

There is lots of other 'stuff' around here related to various hobbies, but nothing specifically for collecting. Photography, guitars, gold pans, mountain bike, backpacks and hiking gear, fishing gear, motorcycle, convertible, pickup truck... Just regular stuff.

I think that most of these obsessions fall into one of two categories (or both): 1) things that allow us to manipulator our environments like knives, guns and lights, and 2) Man Toys that employ titanium, bling, high cost, luster, damascus steel, etc.

Thanks Knife117. I looked them up. You weren't kidding about "not cheap". Definitely cool.

Pipes. I've been a life long pipe smoker, and I've got about 50 years worth of well smoke pipes.
I'm finally down to only three briars and my cobs. I recently gave away the smooth Randy Wiley Galleon in the pic (far right). Left with (left to right) a Nording, another Randy Wiley, and a Savinelli 310 basket pipe.

My collections run from wooden calabashes and boxes, scrimshaw, American pressed glass, Irish Waterford, rifles, pistols, revolvers, pottery, and baskets.

Guns and flashlights along with my knives.

Oh and as time goes by it seems that I have started collecting aches and pains.....

A lot of flashlight collectors in this thread! I have a few, but nothing noteworthy!

I did recently get up to about 10 watches, if that counts as a collection

Big anime/games otaku lol. Knives are my only "manly" hobby as my friends like to hassle me.

I've become a big anime otaku myself. Recently, the works of Makoto Shinkai and Hayao Miyazaki. For a while I was into flashlights and edc gear like bags, backpacks. Still collect action figures when I see something cheap, mostly in the anime robot, SciFi category.

Offensive T-shirts.

Forgot about watches... I only own the Deepsea now. I sold the Sub to buy a DDR.

Horrible picture quality, I know lol They are the only pictures I have of them all together

Zippos

Guitars. I don't collect them, but I do have a decent amount of them lol

If I look at it as having more than I need of something then it would be watches and bicycles. I have small collections of other things but I don't obsess over them like I do those two.
