WE Knives? Another high end Chinese company?

As it looks right now, the subforum will come soon.

And as of now, available for resellers to order the Chimera and Double Helix. Check out www.weknife-news.com for details.

I wish they would do the Chimera without the "broken edges" I think it would look nicer, this is a little too busy for my taste. And the Double Helix being questionable in terms of legality is a no go.

Wolverine666 Wolverine666 : non-flipper. Works with the new developped Sliderlock.
b00n b00n the Double Helix is legal in most states/countries where one hand opening knives are legal. It is not a gravity knife!

I'm in Germany, and to me it's a Gravity knife under german laws. Simply because the Paragon Warlock is a gravity knife as well. You push a button, swing the blade open and then you can let go of the button. The Double Helix seems to work the same. You pull the lock back swing the blade out and then lock it. The whole "Swinging it out" part it the important bit.

You say it's not a gravity knife, do you mean because you can't just swing it out if you don't pull the lock back? Because even that apparently doesn't matter under our laws (unfortunately).

Here is the relevant german law:
"deren Klingen beim Lösen einer Sperrvorrichtung durch ihre Schwerkraft oder durch eine Schleuderbewegung aus dem Griff hervorschnellen und selbsttätig oder beim Loslassen der Sperrvorrichtung festgestellt werden (Fallmesser)"

(A knife with a blade that can be swung out after releasing a locking system, either through gravity or a swinging motion. Which either locks upon swinging out or upon releasing the locking system again.) / Basic quick translation. The Double Helix definitely falls into that category. :)

Wolverine666 Wolverine666 it's all in the link i mentioned.
b00n b00n so then the Benchmade Axis locking knives are also considered gravity knives? It is a pitty German laws getting more and more restrictive. Very sorry for you.

That's a good question. I think the big defining factor is that Benchmades still got the Thumbstud or Flipper. As far I can tell the problem arises when gravity is the only way to get the blade out. (Same with Spydercos and the Compression Lock) If the knife has a way of opening with a Flipper, Stud, Hole, Nail Nick, it's not a gravity knife, if there is no way to open the blade other than swinging it open or just with a spring (Switchblades) it's where it becomes problematic with the law. They basically outlawed everything in the early 2000's after switchblades and balisongs became a seeming youth problem.

And also: Heb een goede dag buur. (My dutch is rusty despite living right by the border ;):D)

More idiotic laws. "Gravity knives" illegal but not one hand openers? None of it makes any logical sense.

Anyway, I don't like USN never could get into it so I'm glad WE is getting a sub forum here.

One handed knives are legal to own and use/carry on non public grounds. Switchblades and Gravity knives are considered weapons and are illegal to own.

We had a couple of prototypes at Bladeshow but these were sold out pretty fast.
