We, the People, hereby request......

The Becker folder has generated an enormous amount of interest here on the forum — way beyond what I ever would have expected — and been a continuing topic of conversation for quite awhile now: a whole lot of people seem to really like this design. There are also a whole lot of people, including me, who would like to see this knife in production so they can buy one. To everyone who put in a good word for this knife; thank you. Your support for this as a Becker product has been great, and an indicator of how much people want a big Becker folder in the lineup.

There are people still asking about the steel, the size, the grips, etc., and I’ve tried to answer those questions as well as I could for a knife that really only exists as a mathematical description of something on my computer at the moment. Will it ever come to life as steel and micarta, becoming something of substance? Who knows.

Any further questions would have to be answered by Ethan Becker and KA-BAR if they ever decide to produce the knife. Notice that I said “if” they decide to produce it. I have no idea at this point whether they want to produce it at all, now or in the future, so I really can’t answer any more questions about it. It’s entirely up to Ethan, at this point, so I’m going to give it a rest unless/until I hear something from Ethan.

Thanks,

dawsonbob

oh, i'm sure we're not going to let THAT happen ;)

seriously, content free bumps? not really worth it. plus, there's like 4 folder threads now. consolidate or something!

the way things are looking for KaBar, even if they started today, they've got so much going on in the factory that a brand new design would be like 2 years til out the door unless it got pushed ahead of the planned lineups.

we're looking at least 3 brand new models coming up in the Becker line (eskabar, magnum camp, machax)... followed hopefully by Tweeners (saw that on a license plate the other day)... then something else. so, maybe even 3 years! maybe.

personally i would be happy if they just brought the BK6 back.

i'm sure they'd like to, but they don't currently have production equipment to make something THAT long... maybe someday soon.

in the meantime, be VERY careful buying a BK-06 off eBay. there's chinese clones now. go figure, right?
