i think yer being a bit scattered

perhaps "oversampled" would be a fitting description.
Or backscattered.

Look, when you don't depth-limit the recursion things get kinda dicey.

make it stop!!!

(haha, DB, you're quick on the anykey - I edited because sometimes humor doesn't come through intact on the boardz, but I see there was no need to worry - cheers)

And you thought I was just another pretty face, didn't you.

Has Ethan chimed in yet? Lots to read here. I want to emphasize I want a BK2 in folder form, same thickness, same size, just folds as per bob's diagram. THAT is what would be special and cool about it. I am not concerned about weight or concealability it's a BK2! By being able to fold it would just be easier to take along than the fixed blade version.

I have a very large Voyager by Cold Steel that is not 1/4" thick but is pretty close to as large as the BK2 folder would be. If Cold steel can build something that large I am sure KaBar would have no troubles. I would also want a pocket clip.

HELL YEAH! thats my thoughts too. KaBar with Ethans help will make a folder built like a tank. i agree on giving the pocket clip a try, if folks dont like it, take it off. i realize im asking for a tank hanging in my pocket, but it would be in my back pocket anyway, replacing the daily rotation of the Bucklite/110/112...... if i can can carry a 110 in my back right pocket easily, id sure as heck give a BK2 folder a try.

okay, third attempt at getting banned. Bladite, how's your sense of humor tonight?

"so, is that a KA-BAR Becker folding Campanion in your pocket, or..." :D

"hey woody, you're listing to starboard."
"yeah, i know, it's my new pocket tank, er knife."

I like clips you can clip to other stuff besides your pocket: pack, visor in the car ect.

Yes, I agree with Akthor. For a big'un, clipping it to a pack makes a lot of sense. Or in a pack side pocket with the clip. Definitely.

I dunno about a 1/4" spine - Not sure what that offers functionally. The BK-2 is a decent chopper (for it's size) and a great baton knife, in part due to it's wedge shape. You can't really expect a folder to handle either of those jobs without the mechanism suffering, so 1/4" seems excessive. Sure it would be neat, but that would wear off pretty quickly for me at least.

I believe the idea is a 3/16" spine [I only read about 1/2 this thread, sorry if I'm wrong]. Count me in, for sure. My BK2 has taken a huge beating and it still shines.

My suggestion is offering the folder in 3 sizes, or at least two.
Maybe one with a 4.5 inch blade and one with 3.5 inch.

ROTFLMAO!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

I love my BK-2 with the quarter inch spine — Ethan knocked it out of the park with that one. But a quarter inch thick is a bit much for a folder, so I've gone with 3/16 of an inch for this. That's still a really beefy blade, folks, thicker than most folders on the market.

I had a little time yesterday, and worked on tightening up my vector files for this beast. I worked on a lot of the internal components — beefed up the pivot even more, etc.. At 3/16 of an inch, with super strong internals, this would be a knife that wouldn't let you down: 1/4 inch isn't necessary and, in fact, would be overkill (and heavy, too).

Keep in mind that it's still only a design exercise at this point, and is subject to some refinement along the way — and that's only if Ethan and KA-BAR decide to produce it at some point.
