We were all new here once

Hi,
I have been here off and on with this forum since 2012.
This is the first time that I remember finding this thread or I would have said hello sooner.

Great post. I've been here a while but still consider myself a noobie when it come to many things. There is just so much knowledge here. One thing that I've noticed is there is a lot more civility here than in other forums. I'm on Glock Talk often and it can get pretty wild there.

Hello Bladeforum, I love traditional ol' school knives Made in the USA. I have learned quite a bit lurking here on and off for over a year or so, however, in that past year I have become extremely fond of slipjoints. I don't follow any protocol to collecting my knives, I just like what I like. And, if I like it, I buy it! I'm hoping to share, buy, sell and trade with you all, and of course show off cool pictures of the knives we love!

See ya in the forum!

Rob

Hello all, buddy of mine kept showing me posts from here and I figured it was time to join up.

I take pictures and enjoy fine blades, thankfully they mesh well together, I also have a blog - vdmscar.blogspot.com - where I post reviews, pictures and the like.

An example of my pictures.

i grew up loving knives around people who couldnt care any less than they did. it hurt my feelings and my passion felt dumb and it sucked. but meeting some new friends who loved knives who i could discuss research and preferances helped a lot and ive done my best to understand and never tire of the most basic things in knives and sharing anything i can is a huge blessing to me as im greatful anyone would listen at all, of course i want to be kind and sensative and help educate

Hello everybody, been awhile since I've been on a forum of any kind. My name is Chris and I'm a knifeaholic.

Hello chris, I think I may be becoming a knifeaholic. I have been lurking around here for about a month reading and looking at pics of different knives. Hopefully I will get me a collection someday

Hello, I'm a lifelong knife enthusiast and I am glad to be here and I'm ready to learn much more about knives and everything else I can learn.

I am new to this forum as a member but have read through the threads many times. I am glad that i have joined. As with anything in life you cant please everyone all of the time but you can please some people all of the time. Thanks for having me on here.

I have had a knife ever since I can remember. Now that I am older, it isn't just cool to me, to have a knife, but to have them all lol. I love collecting knives, and I love sharpening knives, and I have been doing both for a while. However I will STILL buy a knife I know that I absolutely have no practical need for........... haha..... but let's be honest with ourselves. It wouldn't be a hobby if all the things we have purchased regarding cutlery... were a requirement ;).

I love me some edged cutting tools.

I am a frequent visitor of the forum. Now it's good time to join. I share passion with those who love custom knives

I've been a member since 2006 but made my first post tonight. Does that make me a newbie or an oldie??

This will be my first post here, though I have been a member since 2010. I have always found that the search feature on here works fairly well and I usually find what I need. If not, then I run a Google search and usually the information I find is from this forum, but did not show up on the in-site search. Either way, my questions have usually already been answered. At 41 years old and originally being from the Ozarks, I have used a great many knives as far back as I can remember. With that said, this site has opened my eyes up to the knife world beyond Buck, Schrade, Case, and Ka-bar; which were my go to brands for years. Since joining this site, I have developed a taste for Fehrman, Busse, and ESEE knives. I have noticed that for the most part, people are very cordial on this site, but I have read a few rather nasty posts as well. Like all things in life, I think that people need to learn to take things with a grain of salt. Civility does make things better, but then again; common sense helps too.

I am a newbee here, but not to the blade. I did read the rules, but I am defiantly going to reread.

What's up everyone ? I'm newish to the forum but not so new to knifes. I've always loved knives but like many of you my passion was hindered by not having a group of like minded ppl. So I'm glad I joined cause now I can share my thoughs and idead and opions w others. I have found that r some slightly judgemental ppl here but u get that anywhere so no biggie to me.
