you mean like sleeping?
You guys are ANIMALS.

Wisdom tooth recovery is putting a crimp in my routine, but I only need one more full workout to make the goal, so hopefully a little later this week I'll close it out just in time.

:D

With kettlebell circuits, there's minimal rest, especially on the lighter stuff. My 25-30 minute timed routines got me about 7 BSP. Throw in a bunch of pushups, jumping jacks, body weight squats, and ab exercises (which takes less than 5 minutes) for another 3.6 BSP and that's about 10 BSP for the day.

The MYB challenge is the time sink for me, I have a crap pace and it takes me about an hour to hit my 6 mile mark.

Hope you heal soon, wisdom tooth extraction is no joke.

Okay that was stupid of me. I wrote out my last workout post the other day and obviously didn't press the post quick reply button!

So here it is, all combined since friday it was 400 light reps, 25 heavy and 8 very heavy. So that puts me up to 53 BSP! I did it. Sore as hell but I did it. Got a loooong way to go before I am happy with my body but this was a great incentive. Thanks for the support to guys.

Dragged my butt into the gym this morning... 288 medium reps of circuit weights with step boxes in between... 5.7 points + 49 = 54.7 ttd

Congrats, gents!

Thanks guys, and thanks for the great motivation!

Hope you feel better soon Crimson and Daizee..
I am fighting the allergies here, but it is nothing too bad. Worse part is the weather can't decide between 25 and 80 degrees..

Hey! I run a 10 minute mile pace too, and I'm proud of it! So there!

Yeah... Running isn't my best sport...

I was pretty much over my wisdom tooth extraction in a matter of hours because I only got local anaesthesia. They had to saw my teeth in half and everything, and I was conscious for all of it. Getting put completely out is what really messes people up.

I get my 15-18 BSP workout done in about an hour and a half, maybe 2. Add in an hour for running and a half for stretching and warmup/down, and they're pretty comparable. Except I only get 5-6 BP for my time in MYB :P

Ditto, not a fan of running. I've found that if I don't hit the bells or the mats hard, my pace can go up to 8:30 min/ mile and still do at least 4 miles non stop. I'd rather hit the bells and mats hard though, so my times will have to suffer. At 10 min/mile, it's a comfortable pace I can sustain indefinitely.

Enough excuses of why my times suck. 1210 light reps for 12.1 BSP, 144 medium reps for 2.88 BSP. 14.98 BSP for the day.

205.56 BSP to date.

gonna finish out the month because I like the points :)

288 medium reps on machine circuit, all the extra reps have allowed me to up my weight on almost all machines again...
5.7 + 54.7 = 60.4

Almost the final draft of my second poster. Some text revisions and a pic change.

"Get over 10 BSP today!"

getting back into the groove..
one morning warmup = 50+20+30+20+20 = 140 light reps
2nd morning warmup = 60+26+40+30+20 = 176 light reps
sum = 3.16 BSP
+ previous 47.4 = 50.56!!!!

WOO! I've still got to get a proper multi-circuit workout in before the month is officially over.

Last two workouts have me at 55.62 for the month. Been a little sick and it may be a few days before I can back into it.

Holy moly, I worked graveyard shifts last week, and that really threw me off my stride in both fitness challenges :grumpy: Fortunately, I'm back, baby!

Sounds like a good challenge! You, sir, shall make a worthy adversary :D

Man, can't wait to get better from this crap cold. Gonna do some pushups and stuff today, so I don't get too out of it.

Anyone want to try for 250 in February? Or should we wait and do a Spartan in March?

Just got bored and decided to see how many consecutive pushups I can do after all this working out. Pounded out an even 100 (last 8 were BRUTAL though). That's a new record for me. Brings me to 188 BSP to date. I think I'll try to get 12 more tomorrow to reach an even 200 for the month.

Here's my final submission to the inaugural Becker Weights and Fitness Challenge. I did an upper-body workout tonight, which was focused on the military press.

Light reps: 115 = 1.15
Medium reps: 157 = 3.14
Daily total: 4.29

Total January Becker Strength Points: 59.88

I hear you, Falcon! I'm hovering on the edge of a cold but, thus far, haven't fallen over the edge.

My work schedule's picking up in February and I'm going to New York, which will take me out of regular exercising for a little bit, so I'll be fighting to hit 50 at both this challenge and MYB in February; trying for 250 doesn't appear practical for me. However, I plan to increase my bodyweight exercises, which will hopefully pull up my numbers.

In other news, congrats to everyone who took part in this first month of the Becker Strength Challenge  January, the month of New Year's resolutions, proved difficult for many because of weather, sickness, and other obstacles. That means, hopefully, the health challenges will only get better as the year progresses! :)
