Welcome to this great Schrade Forum. I saw you lurking at the bottom of the page and noticed that you just signed up today. I hope that you will share your knowledge and interest in Schrade knives with those here and that you learn something in return.

Welcome MVPknife...
Let me shovel aside all these certificates of authenticity so you can have room to sit a while.

Welcome MVPknife! This is a great place to meet and discuss Schrade Knives and other rabbit trails we/I wander down!

Welcome,
Dale

I'm with Phil. There's no-one who has wreaked more havoc amongst Schrade collectors and would-be Schrade collectors!

OK I feel stupid. I was wandering through fleabay and realized who MVP really is. Duhhhh!

I rolled my COAs into a roll and carry them hunting.....for emergency use. :D

Hello I was at an auction perhapes I will mention what I found. Just got in. Del, Phil, you boys can cover the flanks anytime. I support free speech for every one whether I like what they say, or agree with it, or not. I always welcome hearing opposing points of view as long as I am not forced to accept them without the right of rebuttal.( AHHH SOOO) Still it is nice to see that all this shoveling against the tide has gotten someone so famous to deen to bless us with there eclelastical ( I wish I could spell and wasen't to lazy to look words up ) if fleeting presense. I would also like to welcome this individual and would hope no one would gang up on any one. Not being willing to stand on your opinions by yourself and do so only with the accord and strength of others is, I feel cowardly. I for one would love to get some answers or at least reasons why some things have happened. If I have a question or points of contention I assure everyone I am quite capable of voicing it alone and I solicite only your honest opinions, your support must be earned. However I must quote the Duke I never could abide SKULTERS, LURKERS or LIARS. Any one with Balls enough to voice an opinion will always be welcome in any conversation that I am ever involved in and there right to do so defended by me. ( for whatever the defense by an old man is worth). If there is any further trepidation regarding participation, hell there is always all them billions of chinese to back your WAY, and what you SAY. so come on and STAY, so we can PLAY.

AW TOBY your just trying to butter, little old me up. Shucks. LT

Naw LT,I'm trying to break a hundred tonight, but if you have any information on the Native American set let me know.Grovel,Grovel.Toby

Ask Del he is the man. No one has what he has, I know. LT Sorry Del Hope I did not give ya up.

Want to see something really scairy??? The Schrade collection consisted of panels in a very large room perhapes 100 feet long. Besides this there was a large room that was just packed with more items filling it all not just the walls. To understand how much stuff is difficult to imagine. All this was sold with the understanding that it would be saved. As you know it has been sold. In honor of this thread I thought I would try to give you the readers an idea of the immensity of this historical loss. LT

Here are a few more by the way these photos were selected pretty much at random there are way to many to show everything. These were taken just before Smokey took control of them ( same day ) to be taken for preservation and safety.

Yes, it is indeed a very sad commentary (and, measure of the company) when the $$$ overrides all else.

Maybe those to whom the $$ has more meaning than words like; "integrity", "honour", "my word" and "values" only shave with an electric razor, and therefore don't have to look in the mirror?

Just a few more to give you a very minor taste ( not bad for 175 grand ) since this is but a fraction . So wave good bye all gone no mas. LT Notice the display giant razor and navaha.

BYE BYE miss america pie drove my chevy to the levee and the levee was dry and good old boys were drinking whiskey and rye singing this will be the day when I die. ALL GONE . Well as has been pointed out we still have the boxes. As well as an unending supply of communist imports to choose from they can become a start for our new future heritage of historical artifacts.

Unreal. A masterpiece of collectibles none of us will ever see all together in it's original display state. Just one at a time, as the individuals pieces get sold off. Thanks for the glimpse of what was, LT

Phil

When MVPKNIFE surfaced here a couple of days ago, I was hoping he would stick around and respond to some of these same concerns. I doubt now that we'll ever see him again. Is Smoky going to add and display any of these knives at his museum? Why sell off ALL of the Schrades, surely these are as significant as many of the other knife collections on permanent display.
