Gene,
That's the new kinder, gentler look.

Jim,
Now, you don't think I'm gonna say who I think makes the best neck knife do you? Truth is, so many of them have a characteristic that makes that piece stand out from the bunch. For example, I have repeatedly told Darrel Ralph that the handle on my ArcLite is the most comfortable handle of any of my neck knives. Others may have great damascus, grind lines, profiles, or handle material amongst other attributes.
Guess I'd prefer to say that my favorite is the one that I'm wearing that particular day. Most of my neck knives are associated with makers who have become friends over the past few years, so each one has its own "spirit" as well.
I don't think that neck knives are just a "phase". For me it's a very effective means of carrying a fixed blade on a daily basis. On the other hand, these smaller fixed blades are so versatile that they can be carried in a pocket, inside the waist band etc, with the chain or paracord wrapped around a belt or loop acting as a static cord to deploy the knife. They lend themselves to each users particular needs and for most jobs the blade is long enough to get the work done.
And lastly, many thanks to all of you for making me feel welcome in this position. This has always been a great forum both for the friendships forged here as well as the information which is made available. I'm looking forward to it.
