this is just amazing. i am in my 50s and grew up in eastern north carolina. my father would scold me if i didn't have a pocket knife. i wonder how long until this situation shows up here.

Not so sure about that. The only reason firearms have not been banned here is because of the 2nd Amendment, and even so it is very difficult or impossible to purchase them in certain places. If firearms go, knives are next.

Since the Scouts are banning knives everywhere now , I'm going to start my own Scouts Organization, one where they are not neutered & effeminated by liberal views, one where a knife is required equipment, along with campfires (banned in certain troops here) , axes and all skills that Lord Baden Powell envisioned will be taught again! knife skills, shelter building, capture the flag, hunting, fishing, firearms safety, cleaning and marksmanship, trapping, skinning, drill & parade, knots, etc etc

I think the whole concept of politicizing and knee jerk reacting in the scouts (America and abroad) needs to end.

I remember when they just used to teach the kids who to live in the woods and be good citizens, now they are Anti-Gay, Anti-Athiest, Anti-knife and many other things... what the hell?

Do they use shards of chert to cut their wood? How do they cut rope? How do they learn knife, axe, and other blade skills - does the scout master do it for them? What happens with the older folks die off and the young ones know no skills?
