Well...It's Friday...

Imho the Bushfinger is the best general purpose outdoor knife I've used. Get one of the basic 5/32" or 1/8" SFT (skeletonized full tang) versions with a high grind (especially with 5/32") and use it for a while and you might not feel a need for another 4" fixed blade for a long time.
The Recluse and Ladyfinger are also great, but Andy doesn't make as many of them..

Bushfinger, Ladyfinger and Recluse

If you find one you like copy the the model number and post I'll take it along with the number. Sometimes things move fast and "you snooze, you loose" is the general rule...

jump in quick and post which knife you would like to buy(gotta be quick!!!)

a little later andy will come through and post who got what

his paypal address will be in the initial post. once he confirms who got what then i would think it would be safe to send payment

as far which one to start with...it really doesnt matter...because you will eventually wind up with them all anyway

My fav is the Hiking Buddy :) I usually pair it with a boys axe or folding saw so it does not see hard use. A joy of a knife and versatile.

Lol. That's what I'm afraid of... seeing my next few paychecks go away in a click or two...

How drastic is the weight difference between the full tang and the tapered tang? I personally like a balanced knife between the blade and the handle.

Alot difference in weight. I have a very tapered Arete that weighs next to nothing, still can't decide if I like that one. I like it on the smaller knives, and here and there on the larger. Each one is going to be kind of an objective preference.

If its going to be a woods knife, I like something with a full handle. The full thickness tangs seem to have fuller handles than the tapered ones. My bushfinger has a really comfortable handle for making lots of shavings for a split wood fire. My hiking buddy is really light and handy, but the handle is a tad small for extended hard use. The sneaky Pete also has a very full handle

my two bush boots (one tapered, one not) are VERY DIFFERENT knives - both great, but very different. The tapered one is so much lighter - and much more nimble

The afternoon FF times - are a real productivity killer :)

I'll third that. I'm reduced to dusting and paper shuffling.

F5-ing away. . .F5-ing away. . . you know the nearer your destination, the more you're F5-ing awayyyyy!

I just received my Big Sneaky from the batch just after christmas. Very nice. Well balanced (SFT version), right on the first finger. I'm surprised this model has not been more popular - the proportions just look spot on to me, and its perfect if you want a versatile 5" blade.
