Well...It's Friday...

two more hours and it will be Fiddleback Saturday for us in East Europe :D

Hmmm...maybe time for a "well, it's Saturday" thread? :) Andy was up later than usual last night, I have a feeling this may be a big batch he is working on.

Well after waiting for many hours, the time has come and gone. What an exciting event. Thanks to everyone that gave me input. I've purchased my very first FF and it's a Bushfinger in tuxedo w/ G10. Can't wait to receive it :)

Anyone got some 'tuxedo' styles they'd like to share?

Sweet, picked up a nice crotchy Hiking Buddy replacement since I sold off mine, I had too many in that color combo, and a nice looking Bushraptor. Almoooost took that tuxedo Bushfinger too but somebody snagged it while I was debating. My pocketbook thanks them.

You're welcome :P

Nice score on the tuxedo Bushfinger for a first man, good choice! One of my dearest friends is a Recluse in tuxedo configuration :)

That's a beautiful knife. How long did it take to develop that patina?
This might be a silly question but when washing the knife, nothing can get into the crevices right? It's sealed off tight? Or do I have to take care not to let moisture seep in between the scales and the tang?

I think I had it about three months or so when that shot was taken. I couldn't put it down so it did a lot of food prep in that three months. I always hand wash mine at the sink and dry it immediately at home. But a few of my Fiddlebacks have seen their days out in the rain, and I have never had an issue. I don't think Andy would ever put one up on a Friday post that had any epoxy voids in the handle.

Good to know. Thanks!

"2014 0117 009 – Bushfinger, Tuxedo Config with black G10 scales (PoP), Tapered Tang, Convex on 1/8” thick 3D Spalted 01 steel" What does the PoP stand for?

I have no idea what the PoP is about.

My first Fiddleback was a Bushfinger also, about four years ago I think.

My first was a Bushfinger as well, but only about a year ago. Sweet knife. Good first choice.

I believe the "PoP" is in reference to this:

The Tuxedo one has black g10 as its main scale material and Judy has it all shined up like hard candy.

Maybe it's the shined up g10 makes it pop?

I believe that's right thurin.

Congrats to everyone that grabbed a killer knife today! I was too broke to snatch one up. Hopefully I'll have some soon. :)

Yes, but yours is a rare one too, being the 3/16 heavy-duty model BF. That one is just bad ass.

Man, the spalting on that looks great. I'm not a big scandi fan, but on some of them the spalting just draws me in.

Well, it's not really Friday, but it it my Friday so I decided to post. After 2 weeks of working in the middle of nowhere, I can finally go home tomorrow if my replacement comes out to take over. I'm very excited to be able to go back and take off into the mountains again, and this time for some longer hikes. Hope to catch you all on Friday, and maybe Andy is finally done working on that Tuxedo Bushfinger with the mosaic pin I dreamed he promised me.

Well, if you guys don't see me perusing the Friday post today it's because I am out enjoying the fruits of Fiddleback Thursday, and getting acquainted with a new friend :)

Well, I didn't get a box from GA today, but I did get an email from Rick Lowe... it turns out he got to play with my toy (the lil' Bishop) from last week....

a quote from Rick's email:

"Hey Will,

Mail carrier brought two boxes up about 2hrs. ago. First was your box of knives and the second was the Bishop. I’ll take a look in the first box as soon as I’ve used the Bishop to finished off the zombie horde that appeared out of nowhere. Good thing it came here for leather, have no idea what might have happened other wise. Soon as it hit my hand, they crawled from behind everything in the shop. The Bishop is so smooth, light in the hand and well balanced that I was able to gain quick control. Now, it’s just finishing the ones that have lingered. Believe me, it’ll work and you can quote me on the whole episode!

Actually, I did run through some air cuts along with the traditional hiyi’s and grunts."

I wish I could have seen hot a Bishop comes wrapped! :)

Rick, Treat her well... make sure to carve little marks in the spine for every zombie killed!

-Will

So, how does one explain a Bishop to their wife? LMAO.... ?????

"Honey, it's to finish off the zombies when I get bored with shooting them" "It's really important to keep it hanging on the bed post!"
