GEC's favorite red is pink.Unless they turn out pink, of course.
My favorite red is GEC hemlock green.
If we (hopefully do not) end up with sawcut, my vote is black plum cherry used on the TC14.

That makes sense, but it's not real. We've seen plenty of examples of knives in this thread with white bone covers, and none of them have verdigris stains in the bone. Even the very old knives that have covers that have darkened - they haven't turned verdigris colored.I think here's they're worried about the brass scales under the covers staining the white bone the same color of the verdigris.
But still... I agree with you. Discolored scales to me is like patina on a blade. It just shows that it's been here a while.
My only real requirement for this year's knife is that meako write the homage.Honestly though all this friendly banter and ribbing is what the forum knife is SUPPOSED to be about.
But seriously, jiggers get in line with sawcut. Sawcut is manly, akin to being a lumberjack!

Intrigued.. do you have a picture of this TC cherry?GEC's favorite red is pink.

There, I fixed it for you.Several people said they only wanted smooth white bone if it was paired with stainless steel. Well, it's gonna be brass, boys. Time to switch your votes back to smooth elderberry bone.![]()

Good man! After much thought I am going to be a turncoat and switch from sawcut to smooth bone. I am going to trust Charlie’s wisdom on this one. We honestly can’t go wrong with any of the 3 choices.
Can it be a 2 knife set? One sawcut and one jigged?
Lawdy, I hope you don't have any projects due.I think this is a great idea, except of course that it would be one smooth bone and one jigged.
As previously stated by some handsome genius (I can't remember the chap's name), Smooth bone is pre jigged jig bone.
Then we could visit each end of the jigging spectrum.
And that brings me to another point... aren't Jigged bone supporters really just the brothers and sisters of smooth bone supporters?
Jigged bone people are excellent people- always sticking up for the under dog.
Supplying votes to help the dreamers achieve their dreams.
And when dreamers achieve their dreams, we all win.
And when my cousins aunt's mother's former roommate, George Zip, was on his death bed, he said to me..."who are you?"... but then he said, "I've had a great life... just... just make sure the 2021 Blade Forum knife has smooth bone covers... the color... doesn't matter... " and he breathed his last. I wept openly at his dying request- a selfless one, and yet so well informed from a life well lived.
So lets rally together in these final hours and win one for the Zipper.
Vote Smooth Bone.
Yes, that Schrade (second knife from left) has a fine sawcut!!edit: d'oh! that brown one is actually sawcut I see! It was hard to tell on my phone. I still prefer smooth very much.
This just looks soo classy.....
Not going to lie, I did get a laugh at the one argument from someone a page or so back that was essentially "Since you aren't getting what you want, time for you help me make sure I get what I want!" LOLJigged bone folks may be unwilling to change their vote for different reasons. Truly not having a preference between smooth or sawcut is one of those reasons.
If a vote for one equals a vote against the other, I'd probably rather just keep my vote with jigged. Lobbyists can keep working on dissuading me from your preference though.![]()
Charlie you are being more than fair some of this is the nature of the beast. In the upcoming poll, i will try to list the options fairly!
