Went to the gun store, spent money. I'm happy, new EDC!

I figured it was time to add a new gun to my EDC lineup. I generally switch up between a full size 1911, and a kahr compact for CCW. Today I went in and picked up an XDM 9mm and a new streamlight TLR-1 (I love these lights).

19+1 capacity
Adjustable backstraps for different hand sizes
Smooth trigger
Match grade barrel

I haven't shot it yet, but I love this gun. It points extremely well, I love the 1911 style grip safety and honestly its very thin for a double stack gun. I used to love the simplicity of Glocks, but the XDM to me is like a refined Glock, good accuracy, simple and reliable.

Now to find an IWB holster for it that will support the TLR-1, I think raven makes them.

.

I have a XD9, what are the main differences between the XD and the XDMs?

.

Great score!!

I have an XDM40. They shoot great. I've never had any problems with any of my XD's. And customer support is great too.

If I could conceal a rifle, I would, but unfortunately it wouldn't be looked upon too kindly here.

I conceal a full size 1911 ED, this shouldn't be too hard. The only thing that's a PITA is a holster for it, but there are companies that can accommodate me.

Better grade match barrel, you can change the backstrap and it includes two additional sizes from the stock one, heavier guide rod spring, minimal reset trigger, loaded chamber indicator, 19+1 capacity.

I'm a small guy about 5'4" 135lb and I carry an XDM40 in a crossbreed supertuck IWB holster. If I have a loose shirt or a sweater, it just disappears. Winter, fall and spring attire makes it easy to conceal.

There's just something very comforting about having a full size pistol at all times.

However, they don't make a holster that holds a full size pistol with a light.

The XDs do feel real good in the hand. I have a .40 XD that have had for 5 years probably, and have never shot it. I must have too many toys.

I only do pocket carry these days. So my XD will likely never get carried.

Check blade-tech.com for a good kydex IWB holster. I don't know if they make one for this particular flavor, but I do like their holsters and have several.

Now wait a minute 230, u said u would EDC a MOAB and we caught u with a Sarsquatch instead of ur NMFBM :)

You sure u would lug around a rifle?? ;-p

Just kidding, nice pistol!

Raven Concealment makes excellent holsters for guns with lights. In light of the other gun thread going on I carried my G21SF with TLR1 today in a Raven holster. Big, but comfortable.

Buy me a MOAB, I promise to EDC it. :D

Honestly, I would have had the NMFBM but I don't have a sheath for it yet.

I don't see the XDM listed, just regular and tactical XDs. Hopefully they have one for the M.

Are you going Kydex or Leather?

I was just kidding with you anyhow. Maybe that is what we need to do...get a group together to fund a MOAB for you. Then we need pics and video of you wearing it to work:D

Kydex, mainly because thats what raven concealment systems uses and they're the only ones around stocking IWB holsters that can accommodate a TLR-1.
