Were will knifes be in a thousend years ?

The survivors of the massive plagues of the 28th century will be digging through the garbage and environmental destruction mountains of the 22nd century, so use lots of Renaissance Wax,and bury your collection now! Diamond imbedded printed finger extension blades will be rare though. The nanites will be hard to control due to their preference of not obeying their human "masters".

Even if metal knives become obsoleted in 1000 years, people will still carry them. If you cut yourself with a sharp knife, you may need stitches... If you cut yourself with a pocket lightsaber, you're going to lose limbs and possibly die.

A blade requires no electricity, no battery or charge. You can be stranded in the wilderness for months and that blade will never run out of juice.

Yes but the real question is, can a steel blade slice and toast bread at the same time?

Same place they were thousand years ago and same place they are now. It will be a piece of steel with sharp sides and a pointy end lol

Will it still have a handle?

no requirement... Once the robots take over and use "humans" as tools to do the menial tasks, we will be fitted with thought reading software that will long have rendered our hands useless. the "knife" will have gone the way of our freedom and have been stripped from us. replaced with more efficient items, such as the nutrient rich "food" paste in our feeding tubes or the parasites that clean our waste tubes and convert the matter into organic fertilizer and methane to power the nanobots that keep us alive. This way we never have to leave our hover chairs until the day we expire and are turned into organic based nutrient powder for other life forms feeding tubes. don't try to fight it or argue, as the robots control that by then... just get on their good side in hopes of getting a decent job when the time comes.

everyone remember to hug your roomba.
