Whacha Been Up To......

Any suggestions for a slim dangler sheath for a CPK Basic 5 Field Knife? Similar to this traditional sheath from TRC? This sheath has excellent retention. I prefer using the integral loop on a belt, and not the dangler FWIW.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. Looking for a leather crafter. I should tag a few pics earlier in this thread. Might be a couple years old though.

Lots of makers could do you a nice traditional sheath, pick your poison. But I feel like some would probably already have patterns made up for a CPK Basic 5? If you weren't of the mind to send it in for a custom fit.

That said, I haven't seen many of the CPK makers do them in that style. Usally more pancake-ish with lots of screws and such ;)

Yep. That’s what I’ve seen too. I prefer the minimalist style of traditional danglers to pancake types. And I really don’t care for Kydex sheaths.

I’d be happy to send the knife to someone for a custom fit. Good retention is critical.

At the top of the p[age in the stickies there is a whole list of sheath makers. Most of the listings will have pics so ya can see the type of work they do. Best place to check.

when it comes time to have a go at a sheath for the B5, I think I'm going with the taco style with some kind of doohickey like what you're talking about

I have been busy in my workshop recently, hot weather permitting, and just finished this western-style handbag for my sister-in-law.

I like the simple flat peen. Cobblers hammer?

That's a neat little handle/hanger/rivet backing ;)
