Whacha Been Up To......

I use my 2x72. Been liking zirconium for leather, due to the sharpness of the grit. I only use coated abrasives.
There's a lot of burnishing happening apres sanding as well.

Well, they look amazing and I'm jealous. I just re-read Horsewright Horsewright 's glorious horizontal sheath tutorial and I think that's my best shot at properly rounded edges. I've tried everything but ordering his exact beveler (because I hate sharpening curved bevelers) but I think it's time to pony up.

On my Griffin X I made an adapter so it can be worn horizontally. The leather attaches using two screws and then a single snap attached and a concho both as decoration as well as a means of strengthening the end of the strap so you can unsnap the strap.

This makes it easy to unsnap to remove it and just as easy to attach it back onto your belt. Handy when you need to go into a store that might frown on seeing a knife on your belt. But being horizontal and tight to the belt, a shirt draped over will cover it easily.

They are completely lined with a light weight canvas that is printed in a western theme:

I finished off a batch of knives and sheaths and did a holster for a fellow BF guy at the same time since the construction techniques are similar:

Had sorta unique request in this batch. I was asked to oak carve a roughout sheath for one of the knives> I had done this maybe forty years ago for a pair of leggings but not really since that I can recall. Kinda came out cool. I like its subtleness:

This knife and flower carved sheath was from the last batch but the customer had ordered an additional sheath with his initials, so this was done at the same time.
