Thank you, Josh.

I use a dabber to apply my dye and I do it when the leather is wet formed.

I used different sealers depending on the look, but mostly I use Fiebings Leather Sheen. Sometimes just Pure Neatsfoot Oil.

This is my latest.
A sheath for one of my folding toothpicks.
You may be wondering why there’s a pen in there…..
As an experienced leather crafter I said:
“That’ll fit”
Instead of walking to the other end of el rancho queso and getting the actual knife.

So it’s too narrow and I have a sheath with a clip for a pen that already has a clip. :/

As one of my art director mentors would say:
You’ve got a ruler, USE IT!

Customers knife, not one of mine. He wanted a basic sheath so here it is. I told him this is our basic for $45 or he can get the multidraw option for $65…oh well. Mans got a budget i guess.

Oh and the front piece that’s stamped is still drying and needs more dye…it’s why it doesn’t match the rest at the moment.

Will update this evening after completion hopefully

Finishing off a batch of sheaths my self. There were three more to tool when this pic was shot:

Finished the tooling and then started helping cleaning up the casa as it was Nichole's bday, were having some folks over.

Here's our friend Tammy and she's sporting Nichole's latest purse that she'd bought. Not only ode it incorporate boot tops as the exterior pocket but it was made to display trophy buckles. As long as the buckles are similar in size they can be interchanged as well. Figuring that out took about 3 days of cussing and discussing.

I got Nichole a new pair of boots for her birthday. First pair of these had lasted 15 years.

Original on the right foot and the left has the new:

And…done. This was my first, won’t be my last…learning curve but nice to see the finished product. I used the Feiblings vintage black paste then washed it down to get the brindle look.

Just cleaned this old blade up a replaced some of the leather stacks on the handle and made a new sheath for it.

Some of that batch above:

The handle material (dyed and stabilized box elder) was picked out by the customer and dropped shipped to me for this El Toro.

He had ordered a water buffalo belt at the same time.

A roughout Pancake sheath for this Bandito.

Roughout can sometimes take longer for the oil to set and become uniform throughout the article.

In each batch it's kinda normal to have a few outside knives to make sheaths for. Here is another roughout Pancake sheath.

These two I made Horizontals for:

An interesting one. This knife had broken while the customer was cutting rope. He uses this knife in his daily ranching operations and it came back to me with cow guacamole on the blade, handle and sheath. I told him I would build him a new knife right away. We went with AEB-L this time as I had a Ranchero blade already heat treated in that steel and another in 26C3 would be some months out.

Interestingly he'd converted the original Pancake sheath that shipped with this knife to basically a Slotted sheath.

So I built him a new Ranchero with a Slotted sheath.

Then just cause maybe I could I decided to try and fix the old knife. Surprisingly I was able to. I didn't really expect it to come out this well if I was able to do it at all.

So I shipped both off to him:

Nothing. Got a blood infection a couple weeks ago I am still fighting off. Been researching leather sewing machines, debating between a used Weaver Cub, new Cowboy Outlaw, or a older Adler 167 GK 373 with new servo, reverse and table for less than the other 2? Hoping to get back in the shop in a week or two.

@Horsewright Such a crafty craftsman you are! Nice job refurbishing the old one!
Only thing recently made was this vertical sheath for a small Sebenza, actually two were made as the fellow decided to get one for himself as well
