Whacha Been Up To......

I wanna know how you're cutting that thick ass leather so accurately.. with what looks like modified kitchen knives lol?

I'm blown away by anyone who can cut 8-10oz hard tempered veg tan in curved lines with any kind of accuracy.
turns out a guy can get pretty good at it with lots of practice!

edges are rough finished. I'll go at em again tomorrow and get them 100% ready for staining and/or hot stuffing- pretty much the last part of the process- then on to belt attachments, straps and stuff. Pressure's on to get these shipped before the tariff axe falls

been busting ass to get these sheaths done and shipped before the tariff kicks in on the 19th

the rigs are all put together, and I got a good number of sheaths waxed and ready for the next steps.

This came out very nice. Back when I was dyeing leather I would do it after the wet molding. I'd had some that had mottled when done prior to wet molding. I was a lil concerned about this one but it looks like it came out great.
I got turned on to dyeing wet about a year ago. I find I get a more uniform dye job and the colors seem much richer to me. Or it could be my 62 year old imagination. 😁

Still can't get over the beautiful shape and finish of your edges. They are my ideal.

Just been busting my butt over here…feels good.

Just finished up a pair of lizard skin slips and a pair of sheaths.

The bro-gator sheath pair!! These sheaths are wet formed. They have American alligator onlays and a fixed keeper strap. Hand-stitched with Ritza black thread. The drop loop attachment may be taken off and the lower loop used as the belt loop, to have the knife ride higher. The sheath has a “peak-a-boo” opening on the spine side welt to reveal some of the intricate spine sculpting.
