Whacha Been Up To......

There is something about hand stitching that is relaxing…sure does take a lot of time and tv shows though. Haha.

Very nice work!!
I still have calluses on my pinkies! I once hand sewed a complete pair of shotgun chaps. Including the zippers. Thats just dumb.

Thank you, Dave.

Ya, a pair of hand sewn chaps would be quite the undertaking. Your stuff always looks so great.

Yeah took some time. Thanks.

Nichole made this crossbody purse for our daughter. Made from a very soft, nappy horsehide the purse is completely lined in the same leather:

I think I'm the one that mentioned that earlier. After hand stitching I'll take an awl and place it between each stitch and rock it back and forth, that evens up things up. Every once in a while a stitch will look out of line and you can nudge it back into place. Time consuming yes, but it can help the stitch line flow.

What Redmeadow Knives Redmeadow Knives said.

I haven’t had to use an awl to fix my stitch lines. Maybe once or twice. Not saying “I’m that good,” just saying I’ve been lucky. And OCD. Haha.

The awl is very useful to make zigzag or “curving” stitches placed attractively.

Have you tried an overstitch wheel?

Nichole been working on a new pattern for a folding knife sheath. This is a VERY common pattern in the western world and we constantly our getting requests for it. So we decided to make em up too. The advantage to this pattern over anything else we make for this purpose is it can be tooled:

Heck its basically just a pancake sheath without a welt and heck we don't have any experience with pancakes right?

I'll get that done here this next week.

Beautiful Bill!! I like it. I have the “spilt” look going on right now on one of my slip sheaths for a customer. Great minds think alike. ;)

Again, well done. Super clean and very nice.

Thank you 👍

This one was four layers of leather plus the welt. The veg tanned Camo leather is 4.5oz backed with 7-9oz skirting leather. The back is two layers of 7-9oz skirting. Belt loop is 7-9oz skirting.

I really like the split leather look 👍 Good deal , post pics when your done :)
