Wharncliffe Delica - any interest? (Pics)

I agree with the Deacon about adding a choil. I've never been a big fan of the Delica because it doesn't fit my hand the way a Calypso family knife does. But I love Surfingringo's Wharnification of the Atlantic Salt! I'd buy an H1 one like that in a second, especially if it had toxic green, denim blue, or similar-colored scales.

I'd like to see one in H1. I'm not a big fan of the bright colors...I'd prefer either black or a dark blue for the handles.

Really neat photo Lance!

I had someone do similar for me a few years back on a PE Atlantic. Doesn't get much real use, but I carry it when I have to walk Bear and it's pouring rain and hot enough that wearing a rain coat would only mean getting soaked with sweat instead of rain.

Nice! I really love the handle on the Atlantic Salt. Kind of like a Stretch but I like the deeper choil a lot better than the one on the stretch. I would like to see them throw a couple more blade shapes in the same handle.

edit: Sorry for the derail Jazz....back to business. ;)

Hi Jazz(z). I had no idea this project was going on (haven't spent much time at the Spyderco forum recently). I love the knife you and Sal put together; it appears to be useful. Definitely on my shopping list, especially in Golden(rod) color.

P.S. Isn't Sal AWESOME??!!! What other knife company would take an idea from a single forum member and have a proto ready in a short period of time with the real possibility of marketing it?

definitely on my list too.

Yeah, that's something that always amazes me from Spyderco and Sal, and a reason they get so much love from the knife community and enthusiasts.
I really chuckle myself and feel so nice the few times Sal has posted on my threads. So awesome.

Add me on the "interested" list. Vg-10 and Goldenrod would be sweet, but as others have said its really more about the Delica ergonomics and the blade shape than it is about the handle color or blade steel. In any case, I want.

ThePeacent--I am glad I am not the only one who gets a bit of a thrill when Sal chimes in on a thread I started. It shows a great sense of humility that Sal, the tallest hog in the trough at Spyderco, interacts directly with the consumer via the forums.

Video showing some usage and cutting abilities...
