What’s your least useful knife?

19th centrury Mino Seki Unokubi Zukuri Hamidashi mounted tanto that was traditionally given as a wedding gift. Top that.

Kershaw Junkyard Dog II. This knife is a beast but that's not the problem. It's the clip. It looks like I'm headed to a Star Wars convention. Replacing it costs more than the knife, removing it and letting this monster roll around in my pocket is not going to happen. I like the black G-10 and blade shape but it's not going anywhere. It lives in it’s box doing NOTHING. If Stars Wars is on TV I guess I'll take it out clamp it on and nerd out. :D

maybe my little BM auto. Not going to carry it, but I do play with it a lot. Waaay too cool to get rid of.

My "fighter" knives. They all look cool, but I don't plan on getting into any duels soon.

All my large, thick choppers. My 2 dollar flee market hatchet puts them all to shame for chopping.

this thread needs more pics!

Probably my least useful knife is actually a sword.

sorry for the crappy old pic, that is from my old film camera (like 10+ years old piece of crap).

My waved double edge Police. Probably never get carried, but I love it's nastiness.

Probably my kershaw boot knife, and a crappy double action auto I picked up at a flea market.

I cut the wave and sent it to Reese Weiland. Zero bevel grind on top.

Charlie Mike, that is one scary SOB you've got there. I hope you'll never have to use that one.

I have been toying around with modding a Spydie, now I know what it'll look like.

Probably this Rough Rider barlow I picked up some time back. The thing has springs so tough that I feel like I'm gonna break my nails trying to open it. Because of that, I just leave it sitting around. Probably just gonna scrap it since it won't be seeing any time in the pocket.

Pop the blades about 3/4 open and leave it sitting for several hours..

I feel a little weird, seems like everyone but me has at least 1 useless vanity knife.

Unless it's useful, I don't part with my money for a knife. Or if I find that I'm not going to use it, I get rid of it. My least useful knives (because they get used the least) are some no-name SAK knockoffs and Mora 760's I have that live in emergency kits I've never had to use.

Some of us do part with a little money just to find out what all the hype may be about. I have a cheap chinese copy of the folding Kerambit that approaches zero usefulness. I carried it for about a week. The claw blade looked like it could open boxes, but if fact was beveled so badly it couldn't cut at all - plus the reverse curve of the blade just dug in deeper and would actually jam in the cut full width. A normal bellied knife can cut and also keep most of the the blade out.

The handle is not helped by the ring on the butt, which sticks out of the pocket shouting "I'm a tactical operator!" Looping the little finger in it was always uncomfortable and really hinted at getting broken. As for construction, the blade was obviously cast and roughly ground, but the handle was an open frame in G10, and the liner lock worked, well centered.

I've gave some thought to modding it, and decided that much effort wasn't worth it. Maybe with a properly edged blade it could be secretly carried on a camping trip far, far away from human sight.

Any of my 3 balisong knives. They're not the least bit useful to me, but the craftsmanship and beauty in them make them a worthwhile addition to my collection. :)

my arisaka bayonet it sits on a shelf in front of the gin and tequila looking cool but otherwise totally useless for me. on the other hand it's almost definitely seen battle use as there is heat discoloration from where the muzzle blast would have hit it, it's got little value as an antique cause it's in rough shape and it looks like some farmer got ahold of it and put it to use since it's got a scandi grind on it now :D

I would have to say these two for sure.

My Tiny Toothpicks have to be a very close second though.

Spyderco Endura serrated. FRN handles feel cheap, it is butt ugly, and the fully serrated edge is worthless as an EDC.

Upon thinking about this, I'm going to give it away. Its just taking up space.

I have a full set of Franklin Mint wildlife-oriented knives that I don't want to use (and probably couldn't) and I can't get rid of. :(

Which makes me kinda stupid for buying them in the first place. If I only knew then what I know now...
