What’s the heaviest folding knife you carry?

Honestly, the knife I thought would be the biggest pain to carry and my surprise hit of 2025 is the 5Max. I usually carry something around 3.5-4", but its not the weight that gets me. The 5Max carries fine in a jeans pocket because that weight just rides down the seam of the pocket an actually rests at the bottom instead of "hanging". I notice it less than a 8oz titanium chunker that isn't as supported.

I don't carry the 5Max every day, but in the winter it gets pretty frequent carry. I have had in my pocket every day the last couple of weeks.

The heaviest knife of mine that comes immediately to mind is my Cold Steel Ti/3V AD10. That thing's a chunk, but I DO carry it sometimes. It's hilarious, awesome, and hilariously awesome.

How much does it weigh? No idea, I have never weighed it, or any of my other knives. Ounces just don't matter to me. 🤣

I pick a different knife to carry every month,

The Les George designed ZT 0909 that I'm carrying is fairly heavy at 7.05 oz but I don't even notice it in my light nylon cargo pants pocket.

Buck Sprint Select is probably my favorite to carry, at 3.2 oz it’s in that sweet spot of around 1 oz per blade inch. Though lately the 3.6 oz Case Westline has been getting more pocket time. Generally speaking, I prefer under 4 oz for folders. I’ll only carry something heavier if it’s a fixed blade for work around home; otherwise I gotta travel lean and mean.

Broke my Vanax reblade, but still carry my 20-year-old Rukus 610 (8 oz), although now with the stock S30V blade. Wonderful knife.

I put a set of copper SwissBianco scales on a Huntsman that I lugged around for a year or so. Never weighed it, but it’s definitely a tad more than an Opinel No. 8.

The one thing I carry every day is my Leatherman Arc. Obviously not just a folding knife, but I use the knife a lot. Little over half a pound. The clip makes it sit pretty easily in my jeans (the Charge clip sucked, it would sling around all the time), but it's got some drag to it for sure. Not recommended for swim trunks.

I used to carry a Cold Steel Rajah I when I mowed or worked in the yard. I think it's @10 oz. Was easier to deploy and trim a branch and put away with one hand by "feel" than a lighter weight fixed blade. Trying out a Kershaw 5.5" now.
