Off Topic What’s this knife/sheath sitting on?

Outside of jigging rods for the ice I actually only have one unbroken fishing rod at the moment. I took the kids to the neighbor's place today and had to raid my old man's stash to fit them up.

Gonna have to remedy that! Fish are a’bitin!

We got skunked today, it was too hot for the fish apparently.

I'm worse at fishing than I am at golf, and that's saying something. Especially since I've fished most of my life and just started golfing within the last couple of years.

For the record, my usga handicap index is currently at 41.7 😂

I have no idea what that means…now I have to google it.

It means I'm really bad at golf, and unfortunately I've gotten hooked enough to figure out just how bad I am.

I played gold once. Was told I beat the three guys I was playing with. Woohoo!

However, they couldn’t have been that good cause I sucked. Haha.

Gimme skates and a stick all day long. ;)

It's possibly the most infuriating game known to man...

Never got very good on skates, forget about the stick, I'd probably wind up impaled. Especially since I never figured out how to skate backwards.

Practice makes….better? In both sports! :)

When we lived in Puerto Rico, my dad used to play with Chi-Chi Rodriguez. Chi-Chi would bet people that he could drive a ball farther than they could with a driver (while he used a Coke bottle!). He usually won the bet! All technique and timing.

That's awesome. It's cool enough to play with guys that are near scratch level, playing with a PGA pro would be a great way to learn the game.

I hated being forced to learn the game! My dad was really, really good and he would swing just using his left hand to hit the ball farther and more accurately than I could.

A Texas bubba introduced me to a much easier version of golf. We would hit the ball and then try to shoot it wherever it landed! I was much better at that version🤣

Being forced to do anything is a surefire way for a kid to lose interest (at least in my experience). My boy started expressing interest earlier this year, so now he accompanies us on our weekly outings. I don't keep track of his score, and let him use a tee all the way up to the green. It's frustrating enough without discouraging him even more by being a stickler about the rules, at least until he has a better grasp on things anyway.

Took me just a bit to recognize that hard hat orange. :)

Try this one. I think this will get knocked off quickly.

I'll even invite a few new ringers - new players - in case we get bogged down. ;)

Alert J Just Tom. and CelloDan CelloDan - you'll know this one.

OK - please ID the actual KIND ....
