What’s your favorite large folder with 4 inch or greater blade?

Did I mention Im a sucker for orange? (Feels kind of foolish when I see it right in front of my face like this honestly, it kind of just snuck up on me!)

My Berg Blades Iron Wolf is knocking at the door of 4” and this is definitely my all time favorite. Above and below 4” for that matter

That's some high praise coming from a member with as many sweet knives as you. I want to check one out now. Is it a collaboration made by another company, or a Berg Blades version?

Thanks for the kind words :)
I guess you can call it a Berg Blades exclusive produced by We Knives Berg blades design and specs and massaged by Berg Blades if need be. I believe you can only get them from Berg Blades. I would consider it to be a mid-Tech but with that being said it rivals some full on customs I’ve owned at a fraction of the price. The blade grind is not only beautiful but perfect and symmetrical on both sides. The transitions everywhere are flawless and the action and lockup is smooth and strong. Blade free falls but is not a guillotine which is how I prefer them.
It’s a big knife and blade but very thin behind the edge and is a great slicer.
This knife has definitely exceeded my expectations even with all the stellar reviews I’ve read and research before purchasing.
I highly recommend it and I like it so much if there not sold out by the time I’m ready I will get another. I love the bead blast finish the best on mine But will probably get a stonewashed just for a different flavor.
The Bronze Lightning strike CF is absolutely stunning in person which are made in the U.S
Here’s a pic fresh out of the box with all the Berg Blade Swag that I picked up as a extra I just had to have lol.

If you are looking for a large bladed pocket knife with a really secure lock, why not consider a balisong? The Kershaw Lucha has a full flat grind and the sharp portion of the blade is about 4.5 inches long. Might be a little pointy to clean large game. I cleaned and skinned a deer with a Benchmade balisong years ago, however. It is almost impossible for the lock to fail.

1. Spyderco Tatanka
2. Lone Wolf Knives T3 Ranger
3. Cold Steel Espada XL
4. Daggerr Vendetta with 5 inch Chinese made D2, very slim stabby slicer, do not know how do the Chinese heat treat their D2s but at $70-$80 for brand new, it's a fine flipper.

Assembled in Russia with Chinese parts.

Favorite large folder..... Schrade USA 250T but I don't carry it any more except for work purposes and fairly rough use (in terms of the edge). I generally favor a smaller folder.

That’s sure a nice compliment, I wasn’t trying to brag on what I’ve gathered up, but more to seek some help in finding the next better thing for my needs. Most of what I’ve got, while I like it and all, will probably wind up getting sold or traded or left to the kids while I move towards the next best thing:). I’ll say it again, I sure appreciate the suggestions, and am really enjoying the photos, I never was much good at manuals until I got to the pictures part;)

The smallest (Camillus) CUDA MAXX has a 5 1/2" blade. I just bought one yesterday on the bay. The largest, with a 9" blade is long enough for roasting marshmallows. The 9" MADD MAXX is a Darrel Ralph custom. The 5 1/2" & 7" CUDAs were made by Camillus.View attachment 1293802

+1 I have two 7” blade Camillus CUDA MAXX folders, a serrated bowie and a plain blade stiletto, stout knives, I like them both.

Where did you get the unusual blades? The factory 7” blades had spear points.

CS Large Twistmaster in Carbon V. Thing's a monster, too big for any pocket smaller than XXXXL, but makes an awesome carver in the picnic kit.

I've quite a few >= 4" blades. For your purpose (rugged and easy to maintain), I suggest an XM-24, best a Bowie if you can find one.

Now that being said, my other favorites are Spyderco Military, Police, Hundred Pacer, Chinook and Szabo (most robust Spyderco ever, IMO), or ZT 0452 (full Ti).

Roland.
