What are the least popular Busses?

For me the SAR5 seemed dangerous. The handle is literally ramped towards the unprotected blade. Accident waiting to happen.

I have always thought the same thing. They make my index finger hurt just looking at them.

The Marco Bolo doesn't get much love... Recurved variants in general don't get much love.

What about those tiny Bearcub HACKs?

They make excellent neck knives, no way are they among the least favored Busses.

I'd also like to add that anything with teeth seems to rot on The Exchange as well.

For me, the most disappointing Busse I have ever owned was the Sarsquatch followed by the BATAC (too small to chop & too big for slicing/cutting). Although I have never owned one, the SOW seems unpopular (as almost all recurves). I say the same for a SS; never owned one, never had the desire.

What was wrong with the Sarsquatch if you don't mind me asking? Mine slices, dices, and chops like the dickens (for its size).

IIRC, I didn't like the way it chopped; it's too thin (for me), it's too big to be a good cutter, I didn't like the blade-shape at all, I don't really recall how it felt in the hand while at work with it, but probably not the best - I just didn't care for the way it looked and chopped altogether...

I know that I am in the minority, but I doubt I will ever pick up another one.:foot:

I think the biggest fallback for the Sar-s to me was the blade-shape & thickness. But, I do understand that many of the features I didn't like are what other's loved about this model, i.e. .187" (?) or blade-shape.

Really? I always liked the AD

Agreed. I've got a couple of them. The AD is my favorite hiking/hunting knife.
That and a 'cultie are at the top of my list for carry. Whats not to like?!

I love the sar5. The blade is no more dangerous than that of the mora. And maybe it is because I have rather long and slender fingers, but the handle feels just right. I guess if you've got fingers like Vienna sausages it may not be the right knife for you. :foot: I wish all Busse knives had handles like hammers...;)

My fingers are nuclear tough, some have even referred to them as being "built like a tank"... I have tank fingers.

Panzer sounds to much like pansy, I will go with the M1 Abrams for the win.

You'd think that nukular tough m1 abrams tank fingers would be able to hold a hammer. I guess not...

But then again, I also like the tac handles (mag scales) and the mag scales on the ash 1 (the fatty, not the skinny ash). Give me something hand filling. I put a double wrap of paracord (with inner strands intact) on my dogfather to make the handle fill my hand- and on my dumpster mutt too. If I could do the same thing to my game warder without the cord falling away, I would...

I might be nuts, but it seems like a year or so back the Sarsquatch was looked at pretty poorly, but recently has become pretty popular.

The SAR5 doesn't seem all that popular.

The SAR5 may not be hugely popular but they aren't throwing themselves out there in the exchange either. Wished I had kept one of the ones I had, now I can't get a hold of one.

Jaxx, you aren't the only Gemini fan out here, just need to send mine in to have the edge thinned out.

I'm surprised the BATAC was mentioned so much:eek:, it's one of my "favorites" of all time.:D

I am new to the game but comparing the SAR 6 to the BATAC (.27) I find that the BATAC handles fill out my hand better. The SAR 6 feels a little bit loose in my hand compared to the BATAC. The BATAC's thicker grips provide more mechanical advantage to control side to side movement. Note: I have fairly large hands.
