What are we called?

I've ususally refered to myself as a "knife enthusiest" in the past and I don't realy like to be called a collector.

Ready for when the SHTF and prepared are words that come to mind.

When I hear the word "collector," I think of someone who enjoys cataloguing stamps/baseball cards/comic books etc.... So, that word doesn't fit for me either. Maybe anti-aichmophobiast's? (aichmophobia = Fear of knives and other sharp objects)

I tell people who ask about my knives/swords/axes etc. that I'm a history buff, seems legit right? :)

knife freak.. addict.. broke... obsessed :D you get the picture... O_O

I think of us all as "Knife Knuts," or some similar spelling, and use that in these forums, but I use the term "Knife collector" when refering to myself while talking to Non Knife People. I don't consider myself an actual collector, as my knives all get carried and used, but those nerdy connotations of stamp/comic book/baseball card collector, etc. go a long way in bringing our obsession into a realm of normalcy, and out of the percieved world of crazy.

I'd go with real men. Every guy should have atleast a slipjoint on them whenever it is legal to carry. Unfortunately nowadays most guys are more worried about there hair and squeezing into those skinny jeans.
