I am getting pretty excited about the upcoming campout. I cant wait to get to meet so many of you guys and learn from you all. ON top of that...we get to actually handle many of the knives and gear we are always posting here! SOooo..whatcha bringing?
I am bringing most if not all of my knife collection, so that you guys can try out any that you have never handled before..Also, since we will be near our cars..I am bringing a good bit of my camping and survival gear..that way if the trade blankets roll out..I will have AMMO!! Looking forward to pics and detailed invoices.....:D:thumbup:

EDIT: I am bringing a couple WETTERLINGS and a SOG tomahawk..also a HI Kukri. Also some BUSSE, BARK RIVER, TOPS CUSTOM, FALLKNIVEN, COLD STEEL , BECKER and SCANDIS...My buddy will most likely bring his MORA's...I successfully addicted him to these..and he is always complaining to me about it. Anyone bringing a SKOOKUM??? I would love to handle one..

I'll be bringing this monster for sure. Its essentially the same model that Noss used in his video destruction test.

I will have one of those as well. I am looking forward to beating on mine!

We'll find plenty of huge fallen logs to hack through, guys. Some of our stuff will take place away from the sites - there's great hiking and we can visit different terrain.

I'm not worried :) Though I may bring some cinder blocks just in case the FFBM gets hungry.

LOL. Urban survival is the NEXT gathering, Theo. ;)

LOL...I am actually hoping that some of the guys get to handle knives they have never used before..I think that that might be one of the cooler angles of so many guys going. It is a huge help in deciding what you might want to invest your hard earned money on! I know that I would never have bought a Gameswarden if I had never held one. I will bring my thin one to put through the paces...I think that it will be at the head of the pack as far as small knives go..it is a fantastic little knife and a GREAT handle IMO. Gene

OH..and I cant wait to learn how to make cordage if that is an option??? It is one thing that is escaping me right now!!! I have all the books, but I learn very well from direction. Gene

I won't make it to CT but I'm not from Detroit, MI. I can point you to some prime Urban Survival spots if needed for the "NEXT gathering" :p.

Bring the Busse knives. We've got plenty of cinder blocks, bricks, cars, and a corrupt mayor to feed 'em.

Why don't you post what you would like to see or handle that way we can bring it.

I guess I'm OVER excited??:D
The only knife I want to handle is the SKOOKUM, as far as gear goes...I am interested in what BACKPACKS guys are carrying, I am looking to get into a MAXPEDITION VERSI PACK, so seeing one would be nice. I'm interested in what tools they bring to sharpen thier knives and axes...such as , STEELS and STONES. I am hoping someone has a TOPO map of the area..I am hoping to teach my friend to navigate. Basically, I'm a gear nut..so I am hoping to paw over everyones stuff..:D

Hi fellas,

I am new to the forum, and really anticipate meeting all of you and learning a lot!
I am sure what I bring will not be anything out of the ordinary, but I hope to contribute some way.
Gunknifenut, I would love to listen in on your navigation teachings, if you don't mind.

I am coming up alone,(just moved to CT) so go easy on the newby!

Wait'll you get Marty's navigation course. He's had SF and all sorts of military nav pros in his course who could not believe how much more there was to learn. :D

GREAT..I believe that land nav is something that should be taught in school...it is a real life saver. I am going to learn..but my buddy WES has asked me to teach him to navigate..if MARTY is teaching, then I will become the student ofcourse! Gene

We'll have an orienteering map of the location to use when we are up there, courtesy of one of our attendees.

Thats good news!! I have been studying the terrain..via satelite.

This is great, now if I can actually absorb half of the things that will be taught, i will be ahead of the game.
