So my five year old woke up sobbing for no apparent reason with fifteen minutes left and by the time he got settled down it was too late to finish it…so I guess I’ll find out the rest tonight. Definitely far weirder and more interesting than I expected. All the reviews pitched it as a “pitch black satire of the contemporary food scene” and while it had that I also thought it was an excellent horror movie.Haha, yeah it’s gonna get a little weird in there!
Makes me want to watch Kung Fu Hustle again.Exactly my thought... the axe gang!!
I think that was Drunken Master II (the one that came out in the 90s), that had the (really fun) fight with the axe gang.Exactly my thought... the axe gang!!
I believe you. I've seen 'em both, but it's been a while. Awesome/hilarious stuff in any case.I think that was Drunken Master II (the one that came out in the 90s), that had the (really fun) fight with the axe gang.
The OG Drunken Master came out in the 70s. I don't think that one had the axe gang in it.
Saw the trailers on HBO and finally watched this last night. Definitely different from the standard fare, but found it engaging enough. We watched “The Menu” the other night and I have to say, it was good in a strange way. I hadn’t seen any previews for it, never heard of it in fact and 20 or so minutes in, I was asking why we were watching it, then all hell broke loose. The ending was a little strange but overall we enjoyed it for a movie night on the couch.
Because I like seeing metal stuff get wrecked.
was talking to a buddy today about landfill trying to drink his way out of the beer vat.Beerfest again...... cause that's my fav next to idiocracy
That's a good movie but I crave the esoteric.Plenty of metal wreckage in Days of Thunder!
Good call on the facial hair! The hipsters have done some good work on bringing back some classic styles, but not enough. Until you can walk into work in corporate America with a mustache that could touch your ears with your head held high, there is work to be done!Finished it off today and I liked it! Had some good scenery, architecture and old school facial hair styles, along with an acceptable amount of blood.![]()
If that’s the case, and you are ever looking for a “cult classic” over a couple beers, check out Robot Jox. It’s a post-apocalyptic Cold War based movie about giant machines controlled by people that have to fight to settle international disputes. It’s a little cheesy, but the fight scenes are pretty cool! I haven’t seen it since I was 13, so if you watch it and it sucks, that might be why…Battlebots. Because I like seeing metal stuff get wrecked.
Like an 80s version of Pacific RimIf that’s the case, and you are ever looking for a “cult classic” over a couple beers, check out Robot Jox. Exactly! But the machines were as big as a sky scraper, and the people were inside the robot. And pacific rim didn’t incorporate the cold war era feeling… nor was it “post apocalyptic”….. okay, so maybe not “exactly”… but kinda, sureLike an 80s version of Pacific Rim
I've rewatched a bunch of stuff from that era. A lot of it still stands well.If that’s the case, and you are ever looking for a “cult classic” over a couple beers, check out Robot Jox.
