What are you watching & why? (splain)

There was a lot wrong with that film, IMHO. But I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so I'll let it go at that.
Blues Blues

If you have the time and inclination, maybe you could post your thoughts and hide it behind a ‘spoiler’ tag?

Always interested to learn, and see things from the perspective of someone who has experience/knowledge in a particular field/topic.

We're watching "Say Nothing" on hulu. A series based upon "the troubles" in Northern Ireland during the early 70's.

Worth a watch. Not groundbreaking but a decent depiction of the time and place.

Did you ever watch "Hunger" with Michael Fassbender? It's amazing. Steve McQueen was the director (12 years a slave) and there are some scenes that are just mindblowing.

That being said, not a very fun watch lol.

I may have, but I don't recall offhand. I've read several books and seen a few films related to the topic over the years.

Re: Juror #2 (in brief)...spoiler follows

First of all, as I recall, not a few of the jurors might have been dismissed via a peremptory challenge.
The prosecutor's behavior was not believable...not by her comments, her actions, the way she conducted herself and any investigative steps taken.
And putting aside the improbability of the entire matter...and most importantly...there was never sufficient evidence presented to establish proof beyond a reasonable doubt. I've had cases which were won on overwhelming circumstantial evidence, but this case did not have that.
And even worse, the whole thing would have simply gone away with just a failure to reach a unanimous verdict, which they had well within their grasp. There was no reason for Juror #2 to hold out for a conviction, especially with the attempt to make it look like he was battling with his conscience. With a hung jury the innocent guy gets off, the actual (juror) perp gets off, and nobody looks any further into vehicular evidence or other potential issues. This film required more than just a little willingness to suspend belief.

Thanks. I definitely did wonder about those parts

along with why some of the other jurors who believed there was enough reasonable doubt not to convict (including the med student who believed the injuries were indicative of a vehicular impact rather than being struck with a rock or blunt force implement), decided to flip

Lioness, produced and starring (as a Delta operator) Taylor Sheridan. It is on Showtime and Paramount Plus. About a spec ops unit, led by Zoe Saldana as a CIA case officer running a secret program to insert highly skilled female soldiers under cover into Arab terrorist cells. And before guys start yellling that there are no females in such spec opss roles, you are wrong (and that's all I'm saying on the matter).

2 seasons wrapped and the 2nd season really rachets up the action. Be warned, if you are sensitive to automatic weapons firing, this is not for you.

Highly recommended.
