What are you watching & why? (splain)

We have found the show, after season 2, to be un-Bear-able.

And, the new show on Prime, "Ballard" is not a great follow-up to the "Bosch" series. I may give it one or two more episodes to be sure I don't like it. Cookie cutter with all the standard tropes thrown in.
Yeah, Ballard isn't great. Bosch was way better, but I'm going it picks up a little.

Resident Alien is still pretty good. Still manages to surprise us here and there, we still laugh so they're doing something right. My wife and I also share the same kind of......uh......unique....nontypical....weird sense of humor so ymmv.

I've watched it many times, but Prometheus was on the other night.
I like Ridley Scott's work generally, but finally made it thru Kingdom of Heaven the other night and I was not impressed. It was a bad movie, imo.

Watched The Wind and the Lion last weekend and was reminded how much fun it was.

Watched Sinners in 4K tonight with the family. Absolutely loved it. The music was incredible and the main musical scene was something even most actual musicals fail to pull off. If you can go into the movie blind, it's an even better experience. The less you know, the more you can be surprised.

Reference Atmos track. This is the kind of movie that reminds you of why you went to all the effort to get an Atmos setup.

I was gonna list this one too, I thought it was a fun addition to the vampire genre, and the music was great! I've heard some say it was similar to From Dusk Till Dawn, but I couldn't say as I've not seen it yet.

Have you watched the director's cut? I had previously seen only the theatrical cut and thought it had cool battle scenes but was otherwise disjointed and non-sensical. The Director's cut adds about 30 minutes of deleted scenes back into the movie that make it a good, cohesive story. Apparently Ridley Scott was outraged that the studio cut so much of the film to fit an arbitrary time limit, which effectively ruined the movie.

Captain America: Brave New World continues the trend of mediocre Marvel movies. I like Falcon and Winter Soldier, but the storyline was just underwhelming. Some nice action sets, but I'm ready for Thunderbolts.

It's tough to follow the Infinity Saga since it was such a good comic story. It also raised the bar for comic series in general.

Meh...not bad, but thought it was going to be better

AGREED!

Thunderbolts was a small step in the right direction for me

Kingdom of Heaven is a wonderful movie compared to the abomination that is Gladiator 2... or Napoleon for that matter. I enjoyed Prometheus, great lore.

Ridley needs to hang it up.
