I actually had my doubts, was too lazy to checkI don't think I've ever used "melancholic" in a sentence. Now I'll have to look for an opening. Anybody can use "melancholy"...

(Oh, and it's a national park, smartypants. Though I haven't watched it.)
I never got into Dexter, but meant to. Is this just a continuation of the original series?Dexter: Resurrection is a bit more entertaining than the recent lackluster sequels and prequels. The twists are pretty damn predictable but it's still fun to watch.
All the series are related. They ran 6 seasons or so in the original run. I'd recommend watching the first two, they were really good. After that, they got less interesting but still not too bad. Several years after the final episode they made another, then after another hiatus another. These later runs are quite good since they're not churning them out like series 3-6. I haven't started watching the latest series but will do soon. All that said, you could jump in and begin watching the latest series now and enjoy it. You won't have the context of someone who's watched the older stuff and you might not get certain references or understand some things, but it'll still be entertaining. Michael C Hall is an amazing actor and it's a testament to him and the show that demand warrants new seasons.I never got into Dexter, but meant to. Is this just a continuation of the original series?
Foundation- some damn fine sci fi
It's a sequel to a sequel to the original series, neither of which were meant to have sequels. The justification for how the plot was allowed to continue is a bit silly this time, but it's basically fan fiction anyway so who cares? They're just having fun with the characters. The original series is really good but I know watching a long series is pretty daunting.I never got into Dexter, but meant to. Is this just a continuation of the original series?
Definitely. I watch a good amount of shows, but the time investment to catch up on some of the "must see" recommendations is like having a full time job. Somehow along the way, I missed Sopranos, Breaking Bad and I'm sure a bunch of others. You can definitely skip the prequel, it was pretty pointless and boring.
