Paramount+ is offering a 50% off their streaming, so I opted for their ad-supported annual version which includes ShowTime (no ads) at an extra charge, for a whopping annual of $59.95 (one payment, monthly is a bit more). I felt that at an average of ~ $5 per month, there are enough contents to justify my "splurge". I was particularly intrigued about Tulsa King and another Yellowstone (not a huge fan of this one as season's went on) prequel named 1923 starting tonight with Harrison Ford and Hellen Mirren. I also enjoyed 1883 (Isabel May is well perv worthy had I been like 30 years younger!) much better than YS, but may catch up with YS S5, if and when Peacock runs a sale/discount. I'll sub for the one month, binge and then dumb them.
Tulsa King is thoroughly enjoyable although I would not rank it as highly as it seems to be on various sites but then again, Sly Stallone, a national treasure and a childhood hero! Oh Sly, why oh why did you go with all those tattoos man? The plastic surgeries and hair plugs are all par for the course for being in front of the camera, but the tats are something else. Anyway...
Fudge this new Discovery take over messing up HBO. WestWorld not only cancelled (could see that coming from a mile away) but to add insult, they are going to pull it off HBO and reportedly put it on FAST. Granted that it went downhill fast round about S3, but for fudge sake, S1 and S2 were both exciting and still must watch seasons.
These streaming services are getting out of control, but then again the ad-supported plan on Paramount+ ain't half bad and very tolerable, They are not way too long so you can tweedle with the phone while the ads run for > 2 minutes or so... I read somewhere in the media that with Bob Iger back at the helm of Disney, he is the only one with enough wherewithal to sew something together to bring most streaming under one roof, which I would like if he can work out the anti-trust issues.
In summary, looking forward to 1923 on Paramount+.
