Being a rather pedestrian fellow I like the simple things. A good SAK, my Buck 303 cadet, the Boker congress. I like the tools on the SAK huntsman, The buck just because it's simple and good looking, and the Boker congress because I like to try and carve stuff.

Chris Reeve is and has been #1 on my list for the past decade or so. I was hooked the first time I got my hands on one of their knives. The tolerances are perfection, and even though some argue they are "overpriced" I have to disagree, because when you buy a Chris Reeve you do not need to worry about quality control. I've never handled a knife from them that had ANY problems what so ever! I have also owned MANY Chris Reeve knives (and still have a ton of them in my collection today) and to date, no issues. Whereas you have companies like strider who charges more than Chris Reeve does and yet the quality is STILL nowhere near the quality and finish of a Chris Reeve (IMO) -- and I still own several striders which I do enjoy, both old and new versions. Also, the spa treatment offered by Chris Reeve with about a 2 week turnaround time for the price they offer it at is just unparalleled by any company I've dealt with in the past. You can basically send in your beater, and have it fully serviced / handles re-blasted / blade resharpened and sent back to you basically looking and functioning like a completely new knife erasing years of hard-use. I find that when you buy a Chris Reeve you are buying in to the company - not just a knife. Their line up is also great and could have your knife needs covered for just about any occasion.

My other tops companies after Chris Reeve would have to be, Strider/ Hinderer / Microtech. No knives from any other company have stuck out to me over the years and I've tended to let them go and always end back up with the 4 companies I mentioned. -- I do have other knives from other companies in my collection, but they've been paperweights as I cant bring myself to carry them over some other knives in my collection.
Maybe its time to let them go?... decisions .. decisions... lol!

Happy thanksgiving all ! =D

As long as Cold Steel is the only company offering extra large folders my favourite knife company is Cold Steel. I currently have 14 XL CS folders and I hope they will be bringing out some new models for 2020.

A company I’d like to give thumbs up to is Zack Brown Southern Grind.

They employ disabled veterans and a portion of the revenue goes to support troops.

Plus, the make really great knives. I really appreciate and respect a company that puts our veterans’ well being above corporate profits.

Seems like a lot of customers of other companies have to jump through negative hoops and this is never the case with Southern Grind.

I know a couple of guys that grind their knives, real high quality steel too.

T
Emerson, Hinderer, the midtech Ferrum Forges, Strider, Spartan Blades, McGinnis Pro Line. Spyderco always manages to make something that'll get my attention. Leatherman for multitools.
That is saying a lot, you appear to have owned "a few" amazing grail knives.

I like:
Jake Hoback for the heft and feel
William Henry for refined gentlemanry
Olamic for variety of shapes and beautiful handle treatments
Benchmade for consistency (though some of the plastic handles feel really cheap).
ZT for smooth action and for being stout users.
Spyderco for finding their niche and sticking with it (the higher end limited production models are very nice, too).
CRKT for constantly exploring and trying new models and materials.
Buck for maintaining the traditional hunters knives and mixing in some newer tactical runs.
Kershaw has great bang for the price

I used to like Gerber, but the apparent drop in quality has made their lower end products disposable to the point that I question their mid-higher end as well.
