What are your "I'm not screwing around" knives?

My RC-3 has taken everything I have given it.

Natives, Blurs, SAKs, all get used pretty hard.

The Sebenza is a serious knife that I go to. I have it on me everywhere and all the time. That is a serious use knife. My other serious knife that I never really carry is my SMF.

If you look at the other serious factor, well my Busse War Boar is kind of catchy, especially when put into use:D

As far as I'm concerned, "coolness" is in the function. If you're knife looks wonderful, but doesn't have a single mar or scrtach on the blade, I wonder why you have it. I always EDC the same thing, until I find a better combo. None of them look good in the beauty queen way. They're sexy in the grease on the face, hardcore, drunk, slutty, ripped jeans, skinned up knees, still wearing the same shirt she had on yesterday, slept on the sidewalk where she past out the night before, got kicked out of school in the 9nth grade for smoking in the boys restroom, cusses like a sailor, loud, turns the radio up until the speakers are ruined, fighting with bouncers cause she doesn't take sh#t from anybody, just got through rejetting the carb on her '70 Nova SS, doesn't remember your name but thanks you for the good time kinda way. They always work.

Every single day:
RAT RC-4
Leatherman Charge TTi
Ontario Rat Model 1 or Cold Steel Recon 1 (one of the two)

All have seen some rough times. I always appreciate a girl with scars.

When it's going to get rough and dirty I go to my Spyderco Native or Byrd Cara Cara.

I did carry a Buck 110 in my back pocket for years, and either a 301 or a Vic SAK in the front. Eventually, a Kershaw Blur - now a JYDII CB - in the back pocket. Two years ago this summer, my wife shocked me with a Spydie Native for my front pocket - it's been a constant companion since - great bargain at WallyWorld. Boxes, food, packaging, whittling - great EDC. Here is my 'usual' fare, pocket to pocket, with the cell phone & readers in a shirt pocket:

The 296, a 5-shot .44 Special, is exchanged for a similar, but smaller, 642 - a 5-shot .38 - when the pocket isn't deep enough. The Surefire E1B has been as useful as a knife in many instances. I hate having to carry a firearm nowadays, but it's a sign of the times. It's more fun carrying a neat-o knife that is both a taliking point and functional - something with which you can trim your lunch, open the mail or whittle. Imagine what I could have bought, knife-wise, if I didn't 'have' to have a loud CCW.

For the past few years, mine has been my Benchmade 942. Rock solid, inconspicuous, and holds its edge very well. When I know I'm really going to abuse a blade, I pull out my CRKT M16 14, which has been re-edged so many times it now weighs a good bit less than it used to. The M16 14 stays in my tool bag, and the 942 and Keating Chinook are my around-the-house hard use knives.

Stainz, as a newbie, I have to ask. Why are you carrying two knives?

Because 2 is 1 and 1 is none.

I carry two because a smaller knife is nice to have when you don't want people freaking out. ZT300 in front pocket and zing or delica in the back.
