What Brand Comes To Mind When You Think Of Survival/Tactical/Outdoor Knives?

A "survival knife" is whatever you have on you when you need a knife....that Busse or Rat that`s home in your drawer ain`t gonna help you one bit....

I definately think hollow handle and specifically Jimmy Lyle and the "Rambo" knives.

I think RAT & ZT.

But what do you think about TOPS knives (like the Tracker) and the MICROTECH CURRAHEE (D2 steel) ??? Are they good ?

But what do you think about TOPS knives?

I just can't bring myself to own a Tops knife. Some of the designs look pretty good, and I dig 1095 carbon steel, but their advertising is just too "over the TOP" for me to take seriously. They've got that whole mall ninja naming convention going on with their knives, and that whole sudo-military advertising thing happening.

I generally don't think of knives for tactical purposes. For outdoor/survival.
Fallkniven F1 S1 A1 or A2

I don't own a RAT, but they are so well respected here on BF that I'm considering trying one eventually. So I guess it would be fair to give RAT a vote as well.

The ones that are always on me.

Benchmade 520/525
Vic Farmer
and lately my old Gerber drop point that I refurbed---glued the wood scale back on--polished the brass and got the blade scary sharp

Busse and SwampRat first and foremost... than ScrapYard, Becker and Fallkniven.:confused::yawn:

Busse and Strider will fit all three.

Also Leatherman... I don't think I could get by without my Charge XTi
