What brand makes up the largest part of your traditional knife collection?

SAK then Case then GEC for me. But I own a small fraction of the numbers some of you guys have and every single knife I own except two are users. The two I don't use are a 1977 Case Peanut Craftsman and a Camillus Electrician's Knife with sentimental value. All the rest I use and rotate daily.

I have owned and still own mostly GECs (60%) followed up by Case (25%). I have a few Victorinox and Wenger-Delemont SAKs (5%), a few Queen made knives (5%), Opinel (2.5%), custom makers (2.4%), and a Boker or two (.1% lol). If one exempts the traditional prerequisite of this sub-forum then Spyderco comes in a close second behind GEC in my edged tool collection and carry rotation. Of the 30 or 40 GECs that I own most are in 1095. I have had a couple in O1, retained a few in 440C, and one 420HC.

I carry traditional knives over moderns most days because of my work environment and daily office needs, and I enjoy the aesthetics of traditionals. I do, however, prefer modern folder over traditionals in the utility and steel choice aspects. I enjoy not having to constantly maintain the modern stainless steels (and, hell, even the non-stainless steels like CPM-3V, CPM-M4 and Maxamet). They do not rust like 1095 does and require very little maintenance. Anyways, I digress....

The list of knives that have passed through my collection, whether kept or not:
Boker
Buck
Canal Street Cutlerys
Case
Custom Makers (Van Reenan, Toole, LaRock)
GEC (and all of their sub-brands/SFOs)
Lion Steel (if they count?)
Opinel
Queen/Schatt&Morgan (Northwoods, Trestle Pines, Moore Maker, Cold Steel, etc.)
Victorinox
Wenger-Delemont

And probably a few more....

The vast majority of my knife collection consists of Victorinox SAKs (mainly regular and small Tinkers, with some Recruits) that I set aside after botching the sharpening of their main blades with pull-through carbide sharpeners. After Victorinox, the list goes:
Case (10)
Old Timer/Schrade (3 USA, 3 China-made)
Opinel (4)
Buck (2)
Camillus (2 MILK-818's)
Western (1)

Victorinox tops out at about (30). Spyderco about (25) and Case about (20). All those numbers are + or - 5 or so.

BFC Traditional Forum’s annual knife, (13)

The other 250+ are a collection of everything from customs to Colonials and everything in between.

It's so close, I'd have to do an individual head count to know for sure. I have a pretty even ratio between GEC, Case, Victorinox and Camillus (manufactured by Camillus). I don't purchase too many Case and Victorinox knives anymore, but they dominated my traditional knife purchases, back before GEC became a thing and my love for vintage knives was kindled.

Vintage USA made Schrades. When I was younger I carried them because I couldn't afford other brands like Case, Buck, or Boker. Now when I'm at a flea market or show I walk past those brands looking for the old Schrades..............then I'll go back and check everything else out:D

Schrade Imperial Frontier since I have 130 of them.

I have about 30-40% GEC, followed by Queen/S&M, 88-93 black box Winchesters, pre1980 Hen & Rooster, Case, A.G.Russell, Moki then a good smattering of whatever else that has struck my fancy over the years.
Had some Great Eastern out for oiling a little while ago.IMG_20190131_141644.jpg IMG_20190131_142357.jpg

Holy cow those are sweet! I’d like to get a clip point Washington jack someday.

The 2014 Washington Jacks are aces. Somewhat under valued compared with other GECs in my opinion. I long for a sheepsfoot version.

The majority (75%) of my knives are by Victorinox. GEC is in second place at about 20%, with Case a distant third (<5%).

There is *always* a Swiss Army Knife in my pocket, and there are usually two or three more within arm's reach.
