What Buck are you carrying today?

Today’s EDC is my 112 slim pro.

I still have the Buck 110 Auto Elite in the pouch on my neck lanyard. I use it a little, but I'm still cheating with the Opinel No. 12. For some reason, the ritual of unlocking the blade, opening with the "knock," then turning the ring again to lock the blade helps me enjoy cutting stuff more. On the other hand, pushing the button on the 110 Auto and seeing/hearing the THWACK! has its own charm as well.

Beat the snot out of the 250 yesterday. Making flower beds for the wife, used it to cut roots off of the tiller blade shaft, and opened 40 bags of manure/compost mix to spread and till in. The 154CM blade held up to the abuse well and cut all that needed cut, but was quite dull when finished. To be expected muddy roots and dirt are very abrasive.
Spent perhaps 10min with a 1K grit diamond stone, white fine ceramic stone and a quick strop and it's back to popping hairs. Couple of scratches on the blade, just gives it character. So far very happy with this little guy.

How do you like that 305? I just won a 309 off the bay and feel like I ought to snag a 305 as well.
how do I like the 305 in general?

Or how do I like that particular 305 ?

Let's just say I think you should definately get yourself a 305, as long as it's not one of variants I'm still trying to check off my list because I don't need any more competition.

thats already a very nice collection of them ya got.....
thanks.
I'm still looking for a yellow , and an elk stag, but just just waiting for the right deal to come along.

There's a yellow one on the bay that's been taunting me for months, it seems to basically be NOS except for one thing, the shield is missing.

I like that grey one ya got best....maybe not the rarest one but that grey just calls to me......rest are very nice examples too.

those two you're hunting for, would round your collection of them to about perfect. never looked for shields, impossible to find?

I never thought to look for a shield, I only considered whether Buck might still have any.
Interesting that you like the grey workman the most, it's actually my least favorite because the secondary blade is a little off looking.
Beyond that I do like the grey color, and the single backspring is pretty strong.
The 1990 buckbone example I'm carrying this week has the best snap / walk and talk of all my 305's though.

Btw I just remembered that there's also the red 305, it's not really on my list but if the price is right I'd buy.
Same goes for the 305 clipper, I once really wanted one but worry the scissors may not be as good as the 58mm Victorinox scissors I'm used to.
