What Buck are you carrying today?

Been carrying the Goliath this week. Put a nice edge on it and have been finding any and every excuse to use it.

These have a 4" blade, 1/4" longer than a 110, iirc. Is there a folding Buck longer than this? Besides the folding fillet knife, that is.

I saw one measurement of the clip blade on the 317 Trailblazer as 4 1/8 inches. The 397 and 398 Omni 12 Pts are lists at 4 inches. And some of the Bill Lowen China knives, 374 Trapper, 386 Toothpick and 387 Fish Knife have 4 inch blades.

Forgot about that Trailblazer!

I dream of a 110 or 112 with a 4.25-5 inch blade.

The Goliath has the additional advantage of a wider/taller blade, so it can be thin for a larger portion of the blade. I'll bet it's a great slicer.

It really is a great slicer with that thin blade and it takes a great edge. The mid-90s/early 2000's Bucklites seem to get scary sharp.

The 317 is over 9" with clip open. It is a big non-blocking folder

Been totin' this David Yellowhorse 55 off and on for a few months. I mostly like it for the Native American lore that it represents but I also like having the gemstones in my pocket. (Turquoise, Bloody Jasper, and Black Jet) I guess it could be considered pocket jewelry in a literal sense.

Those Yellow Horse Bucks are so classy.

I’m inclined to agree. I’ve been wanting his “We The People” 55 but I really don’t want anything to replace the one I already have.

On the other hand, I really like his “Eagle Dancer” inlay. If I could get him to make me an Eagle Dancer 55 then I would probably replace this one with that for pocket carry. Been thinking about giving him a call.
