What Buck are you carrying today?

ACK! My favored Buck 110 is in the car (took off my neck sheath when I was at the gym - don't worry . . . I had a Spyderco Military S90V and a Victorinox Huntsman in my pocket). I'm too lazy to go get it. So I'm temporarily replacing it with a Bark River Bumblebee (also neck carry).

And I always have the 110 LT in my pocket for emergencies.

Lightweight Friday with the 309 and the 444.

Had the 2021 vintage 110 with me today. I used it at an Independence Day cookout to cut my burgers (I eat 'em without buns) and to spear some really good strawberries from a big serving dish that was conveniently placed in front of me.
I used my 117 to prep some strawberries for jelly the other day.

I don't know about Indiana strawberries, but Michigan strawberries are far better than them things they sell in the grocery store.

My home town has a strawberry festival every year the first weekend of June, but this year I suspect everything was an "import" because of a lack of rain. I don't know the source of the berries I got yesterday. I assumed they came from someone's garden because they tasted like they ripened the old fashioned way, but the person near the tray told me that they were purchased . . . somewhere.

they grow strawberries down here too. they are pretty good. I've never tried to grow them, might give it a try next year. my uncle grows blueberries in North Florida on his cattle farm.
he does nothing to them, and they produce like mad. doesn't even water them. let's nature and rain do all the work he says. I'd sure like to find a variety of strawberries like that. I'm a lazy gardener.....

My dad grew them in our yard (front and back) for a few years. Believe it or not, we actually had too many strawberries after eating, freezing, and giving them away. Keeping the birds away from them before they ripened was an issue too. I may try it again because they're so good!

bet that was nice....

was just reading up on u of f agriculture site about them...sounds like a lot of work..and that isn't my thing......

everything I grow now is about a zero effort gig. once in a while I have to water and weed and that's about it. thats why i love my pineapples and sugar cane. so easy and no real work.

I'm about to chop down my mandarin orange tree as it's been a huge headache of sooty mold and aphid issues....and I'm tired of dealing with it.......I might just leave it as is and see if it survives on its own or if it dies remove it....

I'll have to consider on the strawberries if I'm willing to invest the time and energy.

We get ours from the local farmers.
So it's a win-win.
I don't have to deal with it, and I doubt I could grow them as well anyways.

We have lots of wild berries growing in the back yard, so there always seems to be some sort of wildlife back there eating them.
I like that.

My asparagus patch is fenced in. And that's about my extent of gardening, as competitive farming isn't my thing. The critters can be relentless.

Wonder what a thick ribeye cooked over seasoned mandarin orange tree tastes like? Pair it with an ice cold blue moon and homemade vanilla ice cream with strawberries for dessert. Now I am hungry

Is it the lighting or are there light, almost white streaks in the grain of the scales?
