What Buck are you carrying today?

A 110 in my back pocket and a new SwissChamp in my front.

Flat grind 309 and a 4 dot 110 with a slightly bent tip and a small chip toward the tip. Funny story about the 110, it was my uncle's knife and the bent tip and chip were put there by my cousin and I back in the late 80s pretending to be Bo and Luke Duke.

I may send the 110 in to see if Buck can straighten the tip when I get around to sending in some other family Bucks for SPA.

Has anyone had any luck with Buck straightening a tip? It's not a bad bend, I would imagine they could fix it easily enough.

I like the bent tip because of the story behind it! I'm not sure how to go about straightening it, so I'd probably just leave it if I couldn't fix it myself. If you could fix it yourself, you'd be "straightening the curves." 🎶 🤣

Buck doesn't necessarily "fix" a bent tip, however it is possible they can grind a bend out of the tip. Your 110 looks like the bend could be improved/reduced by removing material. I have a 110 that I sent in with a similar issue and it came back much improved. Not sure I have any before and after pics.

No before pics. Blade on the left, 4 dot FG, is the most severely bent I've come across. Blade on the right is the 1991 that did not start as severely bent, but was much improved by the warranty department. A bit of a left hand turn remains.

Nice! I'll have to send it in and see what Buck can do. It's in great shape other than the bent tip and little nick. Probably got hidden away after we did the damage and never used again!
