What Buck are you carrying today?

What a beautiful Buck bread knife. How old is that sweetie?
It’s just shy of two years old. My wife bakes our bread, so it gets used several times a day.

The wood handle is not supposed to go through the dishwasher, but I have folks in the family that do it, on occasion. So far, it’s holding up well, though I’ll have to re-do the wood finish at some point, probably, or send it in.

It has gotten dropped on the brick floor several times, but with Buck’s 420HC that’s not a problem. A couple minutes with a ceramic rod that closely fits the radius of the serrations fixes it right up.

It’s a winner, for sure!

Any luck?!
Fair, bluefish in the 12 - 14" size (good fight) - I don't eat them. Plenty of Pinfish, the ones I catch become cut bait. Water was very churned up and dirty with lot of Sargasso Sea grass mixed in from the two storms that were out in the Atlantic last week. I'm going to Buxton late next week for old drum in the surf (if the beach is open - they are cleaning up nine houses that dropped into the surf last week). Got my fingers crossed we can get on the beach without a lot of debris.

Nice! You got a lottery winner there.
Yes, sir! For sure!

The good news is that there may be a couple more winning tickets out there. I have 112’s in 440C, 425Mod, 420HC, and D2. I stumbled across pictures of this oak 5160 offering online and wanted one. I saw a comment indicating it had been a Copper and Clad exclusive. C&C is always sending emails about discontinued knives they have a small batch of to offer, so I sent them an email to ask if they thought they could find one of these Rangers hiding on the back of a shelf somewhere. I was surprised when they replied that they did, and shocked when they offered it to me at the normal retail price instead of the rare, discontinued price! I don’t know them, but they seem like good people, for sure. This one will be a favorite for a long time!
