What Buck are you carrying today?

Well, if this new-fangled powder metallurgy Magnacut stuff is going to live under my roof, I’m going to treat it like any of my other knives. I needed to split the cases on a couple of battery chargers this weekend to solder on some new, fused leads, and it handled the prying just fine. The leads that came on these chargers were so cheap, the insulation was split out of the package with bare copper exposed!

I really really wish they went with the Brass bolsters like what was originally shown!! 😒😞😒
John 😁

There are a few, now rare, dealer samples out there in brass. Sources indicate Buck kept having quality issues with their brass supplier and decided to go with Nickel Silver, at least for now. The NS models even have a different model and catalog number than the brass models, though the numbering system would have you believe they are brass.

Example: The true brass, rare, ebony 301 is Model number 0301BRS-B whereas the nickel silver model is 0301BRS2-B

Still uses the code for Brass, BR, though it isn't.
