What Buck are you carrying today?

I've said I wouldn't buy a Chinese Buck, but I was intrigued with the carabineer clip on the 818 Apex. Being on sale.... I'll try it.

Working at elevation with fall arrest harness on, it would be helpful to have a knife at hand that you could hang from your harness, easy to get to without digging thru tool pouch, or the difficult to access belt pouch: the harness makes that difficult.

Well the 818 made it 11 hours before the clip quit working properly.
Not a bad little knife. But not worth the price, no matter how inexpensive.

It may be warrantied for life, but it's not built for work.

that's a shame. would have been good for that application high up with fall harness on as ya said. theyll fix or replace it, I'd expect, so all isnt lost.

Yeah.
I know. But for what it cost it's not worth it.
And with that thought in mind I guess I was hoping for more than I should have.
I have other Bucks I have abused that were in the same price point and they have held up well, surprisingly well. That 715 for example.

Buck makes an awesome product. This one just is not designed for heavy use........ If 11 hours qualifies as heavy use. I did get to cut open 2 tubes of caulk tho. o_O

I'll keep it in my travel bag. It'll get used.
Thanks.
