From the Buck Email I received when I was put into the Pro / BCCI program: *Excludes Custom Knife Shop, Web Specials, Boy Scouts of America, Legacy, Limited Editions, and Kitchen Cutlery. Membership in the Industry Pro Purchase Program is a privilege and is intended for personal use only. You may not place orders for family members, friends, or coworkers. Buck Knives does not tolerate abuse of this program and any will result in permanent suspension.I put one in my cart and went to checkout. Price didn't reflect BCCI pricing. ???
In The Ma
I found one of these at an online retailer and my FOMO got the best of me. Should be here today.
Yes it is.Is that Ram Horn ?
In my experience yes. Fit and finish is better from the custom shop.Hi guys, does any of you have experience with Buck custom shop? I’m close to ordering a Squire with Sunset Jigged bone, but last summer I bought a normal Squire and the fit and finish was really bad. Does the custom shop have better QC, or what can I expect?
I’m located in Europe, so if I get a bad apple it’s not gonna be worth it to send it back and pay VAT once again, when it arrives back from a potential service. That’s why the QC have to be good.
My experience is also that fit and finish is better from the Custom Shop. Here's an example but unfortunately, I don't have a standard model to compare it to.Hi guys, does any of you have experience with Buck custom shop? That horned handled 503 at the top is a beaut! Is that elk or sambar? My experience is also that fit and finish is better from the Custom Shop. Here's an example but unfortunately, I don't have a standard model to compare it to.
This 505 from the Custom Shop has a polished frame all around. I've noticed that the standard 505's are only polished at the bolsters. The rest of the frame is more like a satin finish. I hope you can see what I mean here without a comparison pic. This is not something that you can specify when choosing Custom Shop options. They just do it which I think speaks well for the attention to detail in the Custom Shop.

These 503's also have the same polished frame as the 505.
