What covers would you like to see from GEC?

We're enjoying a great time to love traditionals, as GEC is putting out some very attractive and well finished knives. From the excellent jigged bone, jet black ebony, various micartas and beautiful stag handles, etc, we're getting pretty spoiled.

But I can never be too spoiled, personally. This came up in the BFC knife update thread, but I figured the topic could stand alone. What material or finish would you love to see on a GEC knife in the future?

Mine is "rough buff", the unpolished buffalo bark handles that BRKT uses on their knives. Lots of character, great rich black and pleasing texture, I think this would fit right in on a GEC.

What about you?

I would like to see the Oily Creek Bone used on knives other than SFO's,

And I would like to see more of the jigged bone used on Charlie's Navy knife, this to me is as good as it gets,

1095 steel. I remember seeing someone who lived in a really humid environment and just putting their 77 barlow in their pocket and going about their day patinaed the exposed portion of the blade, as well as the liners. could be a little heavy though

I'd like to see more sawcut bone, especially on non-sfos and models smaller than the 77. I also agree with Augie on that style of jigged bone, it is one of my absolute favorites.

I agree with more jig bone like CC navy knife and some rams horn

I think they used ram on some bulldog blades. Wouldn't be a stretch to see them on GEC's.

More jigging like the rope knife is a definite. The cranberry knife looked so awesome. And I'm digging the oily creek bone look too, though I've never seen one in person.

I really want a sawcut handled knife, so I have to agree. I really like the black/tan sawcut on the northwoods everyday Barlow. I'd like to see it on some different patterns like a moose or something.

Ram's horn would be interesting, but I would like to see weathered Elk. Also use of stabilized woods would allow softer woods like Dyed Elder Burl and Buckeye Burl to be used.

Grew up diving for them so I'd love to see some of that beautiful GEC abalone. None of these little guys belong to me but I enjoy admiring the pictures.

Stonebeard- I'll second you there. I'd love to have an abalone in my collection. They don't seem to be putting many out anymore, which has driven up the price on the second hand market it seems.

I'm not huge on camel bone, but I think it's probably just due to the abundance offered through KSF. I'm sure it's a quality material that I'd love if I took the plunge though.

Wishful thinking but I wish someone ,hopefully GEC, will recreate the Case Red Bone, that in my opinion is some of the best bone ever put on a knife.

I would like to see GEC do something with a rich burl wood cover. I would also like to see something kind of like Case's Barnboard.

I don't think GEC has done a jigged natural/white/ivory bone. I have a few Case folders with those handles, and they're my favorite non GEC knives.
